Mites and Sq**rt C's on the ice at 5:00-5:50
Sq**rt B's and PeeWee's on the ice 6:00-6:50
Bantams and Girls team on the ice 7:00-7:50

MAKE SURE TO CHECK BAGS FOR SKATES, SOCKS, PADS, HELMUT, TAPE (IF NEEDED) AND STICK!!

Parent Tip: Pack snacks ahead of time in a small cooler — tired, hungry kids = grumpy kids. Fuel makes all the difference in effort and attitude on the ice!

🚨 The Night Before the 1st Practice of the Season! 🚨

We know everyone has been SO busy and schedules are all over the place, but it’s time to lace up and hit the ice! Tomorrow kicks off the Nantucket Noreasters hockey season and we could not be more excited. 🏒💙

✨ Snack Reminder!
The first week back is always an adjustment — energy dips, tired legs, and lots of smiles. A healthy snack before and after practice (fruit, granola bars, yogurt, cheese sticks, water) makes a HUGE difference as everyone settles back into routine.

✅ Important Notes for Parents & Players:

Parity Games: All teams play their first parity games this week — effort and attitude are everything!

Team Moms will be sending out travel information this week — keep an eye out.

Today was everything we hoped for — skates laced, kids racing onto the ice, high-fives, hugs, and lots of "Wow, you’ve grown!" (and so have your feet 😅).

It was truly heartwarming catching up with all of you — and seeing the rink come back to life with the energy of our amazing hockey families.

🧊 ’Twas the Night Before the Rink Reopened… and NO ONE Was Chill 🏒
and all through the town,
hockey bags were exploding,
and not a single kid could calm down.

Water bottles were filled, stick tape was flying,
socks were mismatched — and nobody was crying!
(Okay, one little brother was. But he’ll be fine.)

Sticks lined the hallway like swords on display,
with dreams of bar-down snipes lighting the way.

Parents stepped carefully, dodging stray gear,
"If I trip on one more elbow pad..." they muttered in fear.

Skates were laced early, helmets on heads,
kids sleeping in jerseys, refusing their beds.

The fridge was raided, the gear was sniff-checked,
a shin pad from 2023? Close enough. Respect.

Camp’s loading in, Open Hockey returns,
Puck & Stick, Freestyle — the rink fever burns!

Because starting MONDAY, Nantucket Ice is BACK — fresh ice, cool air, and the best way to beat the heat this summer.

🏒 We’re kicking things off with Yandle Hockey Camps, and the week is packed with Puck & Stick, Adult Hockey, Freestyle, Public Skate… and all the rink vibes you’ve been missing.

To the Spring Sports Moms – Happy Mother’s Day!

As this Mother’s Day draws to a close, I want to take a moment to celebrate the Spring Sports Moms !!

Here’s to the moms who lace up cleats, pack gear bags, and fill up water bottles, pack the snacks at the crack of dawn. The ones who stand in the wind, rain, and unpredictable spring weather, cheering for every goal, ground ball, fast break, and sprint to home plate or the other end of the lacrosse/soccer field. To all moms who applied SPF to 10 different kids, but forgot to do it for themselves and possibly your own kids. (NO JUDGEMENT)

You are the heartbeat of the season – the ones who see the bruises, wipe the sweat, celebrate the wins, and offer the “I’m proud of you” no matter the final score.

As you toss those grass-stained uniforms, beyond smelly socks, into the wash tonight, know that you are more than a sports mom – you are a champion of dreams, a fierce supporter, and the true MVP.

Thank you for every early morning, every road trip, and every sideline cheer. And a special shout-out to all the moms who traveled off-island today – that Nantucket hustle is a whole other level.

Happy Mother’s Day, Spring Sports Moms. You are the real sideline heroes. YOU ARE AMAZING!! Now go to bed, and attack tomorrow with everything you have.

YEP, this mom dropped the ball, puck, soccer cleat, water bottle whatever.. I didn't post — and I’m owning it! 🙈 The Spring Sports Shuffle is real. Between soccer, lacrosse, playdates, school events, and snack rotations that feel like Olympic prep, I blinked and the week disappeared.

Add in a few lost water bottles, a pair of MIA shin guards (which, let’s be honest, probably needed to disappear — they stink anyway 😅), and it’s safe to say we’re all just doing our best out here.

Even though Nantucket Ice is still closed, things are looking bright for a Mid-June reopening, and we’ll be ready when the doors roll open! Until then, we’re still moving, cheering, and hydrating (kind of).

☀️ This Week's Mom Survival Tips:
Shin Guard De-Stink Hack: Soak them in warm water with a little white vinegar + baking soda, then air dry in the sun. ✨

SPF check: Start smearing sunscreen on those faces before they bolt onto fields — even the cloudy days count.

Snack Reminder: If your car hasn’t turned into a mobile pantry yet... are you even a spring sports parent?
