Sharing my most recent “work of heart”. 💜 Introducing Inner Pitch, a mindset channel for youth athletes where they can train their mind just like they train their body. I was inspired to create this platform because I watched my kids work so hard training their bodies and then in one moment of high pressure or a mistake or a screaming parent, I saw all of that crumble.

That’s when I realized that half of the training was missing. The mental training. Inner Pitch’s mental reps consist of visualizations, affirmations and pep talks. And in the first week of launching TikTok (just 3 weeks ago), the first pep talk got 350k views and almost 40k likes.

The comments and shares reinforced the need for this type of training and what had initially started as just a soccer mindset channel has already been requested for all the other youth sports.

Sometimes figuring out how to change the world feels impossible. It feels too layered, too complex to even know where to begin.

But last night, as I watched the fireflies light up the field behind my house, I was reminded that we all have that light within us. We just have to let it shine.

Darkness cannot exist where there is light. Maybe it really is that simple.

I can't resist the opportunity to coach, even if it's for the rug cleaner!

The other day, I was chatting with the guy cleaning my rugs (and of course, I had to ask what his dream job was). Now, don’t get me wrong—there is something satisfying about instantly turning a dirty rug bright and clean again. But when I asked him if this was what he wanted to do long-term, he immediately jumped in with a response.

Me: “So, is cleaning rugs something you want to do long-term?”

Rugman: “No, not really… it's just all I’ve ever known.”

Me: “Well then, what’s your dream job?”

Without skipping a beat, the Rugman replied boldly: “Actually, I’ve always wanted to be a police officer. But I don’t feel confident enough. I have tattoos and I am not very tall, but I know that's silly and other people who are smaller than me and shorter, they’re doing it with so much confidence. So, I know, why can’t I?”

The irony hit me: he was CONFIDENTLY claiming a lack of confidence and I had to call him out on it. “You already have the confidence, you just proved that. You just need to change the story you're telling yourself out loud.”

We often become trapped in stories that limit our potential, missing the evidence of who we already are and what we can achieve.

Why are you letting your past define what you want to become in the future?

There is a reason you want to leave your current situation, right? Something is missing, something feels out of alignment, maybe you know deep down that there has to be more to all this.

Maybe it's because it wasn’t even your choice to get into this industry or job in the first place.

Maybe it was decided for you by family, friends, society, a degree that you invested in when you were a teenager, or maybe it was just an obligation to make ends meet and survive.

So if that's the case, I ask you again, why would you base your next career decision on everything that you were taught that you were versus who you actually are?

And this is the scariest part for most people, the process of unlearning what you were taught and rediscovering your true and authentic self.

I share this message from experience, from knowing exactly where you are now. After 18 years in corporate, and now being a business owner for 2 years, I will tell you that relearning who you are is a process and doesn't happen overnight, but it is the most transformational and rewarding decision that you will ever make. 💖
