Did you know swimsuit color can play a big role in water safety? 🌊☀️
Bright, vibrant colors like neon orange, pink, yellow, and green are much easier to spot underwater and from a distance compared to darker colors or blues that can blend into the water. Visibility matters especially during pool days, lake trips, and beach vacations!
At Goldfish Swim School, water safety is always our top priority. Along with swim lessons and supervision, choosing a high-visibility swimsuit is another simple step families can take to help keep swimmers safer in and around the water. 💙🐠

What actually happens during a swim lesson?
For many parents, the first lesson can feel like a mystery.
A typical class includes guided skill practice, playful activities that help reinforce learning, and lots of encouragement from instructors along the way. Kids work on important skills like floating, safe movement through the water, and listening for directions. All while having fun! 😊
Because when kids enjoy the experience, they’re more likely to stay engaged and keep building new skills.
💬 If your child is already in lessons, what’s their favorite part?

Progress in swim lessons doesn’t always look like swimming across the pool. 🧡
Some of the most important milestones are the ones that help kids stay safer in and around the water. When we talk with parents about the most meaningful milestones, the ones that give them the most peace of mind, these are typically the ones we hear about.
Progress can look like:
✔️ Rolling onto their back to float
✔️ Climbing out of the pool independently
✔️ Listening and responding to instructor directions
✔️ Staying calm and confident in the water
These skills build the foundation for stronger swimmers over time, and they’re an important part of learning how to respect and navigate water safely.
Because real progress is about preparation, confidence, and safety.
💬 What’s a swim skill your child has learned recently that made you proud (and maybe breathing a little easier)?

Happy 4 years to Coach Alexis and Miss Faiza!! 💙🐠
These two started their Goldfish journey together and have made such an incredible impact ever since. Their positivity, motivation, kindness, and dedication have touched so many families, swimmers, and staff members throughout the years.
Today is also Miss Faiza’s last day, and while we are so excited for her next chapter, our team will miss her smiles, her amazing customer service, and the way she treated every single person with kindness and respect every day. She truly made Goldfish feel like family. 💛
Coach Alexis continues her journey as our manager here in Elmhurst, and we are so grateful for everything she does for our team and our swimmers. She is such an important part of Goldfish and an amazing leader.

Water Safety Tip 🩵 Supervision isn’t a breakable rule.
One of the most important things to know about drowning is that it’s often silent and quick. It doesn’t look like the splashing or shouting we see in movies.
That’s why active supervision is one of the most important layers of water safety.
Many families use the “Water Watcher” approach, and it’s one we highly recommend and encourage. This means one adult is designated to actively watch the water at all times, without distractions like phones, conversations, or multitasking.
It can be easy to think that having a lot of adults around means that at least someone is watching, but that’s not always the case. Take the guessing out of it. When everyone knows who’s watching the water, it helps keep kids safer and lets everyone be that much more in the moment and enjoying it together. 😊
👉 Save this reminder for your next pool or beach day and share it with someone who spends time around water with kids!

Parents notice the little changes first. 🥹
The smile after a lesson.
The excitement to jump in the pool.
The moment they realize they’re doing something they couldn’t do before.
Those small moments are how confidence in the water starts to grow.
And honestly? They’re some of our favorite moments to celebrate with our swim families. 🧡
💬 What’s something you’ve noticed your swimmer doing more confidently lately?

Today is International Water Safety Day! 🩵
It’s a reminder of something we believe every day at Goldfish Swim School: learning water safety skills can make a life-changing difference for kids and families.
Water safety isn’t just about swimming. It’s about building the skills and habits that help children feel confident, capable, and prepared whenever they’re around water. Whether that’s a pool, lake, beach, or vacation spot, those skills are there to help keep kids safer.
Every lesson is a step toward helping kids become safer in and around the water, and we’re proud to be part of that journey with our swim families.
👏 Save this post to revisit these water safety tips later, and share it with another parent or caregiver in your life to help spread awareness for drowning prevention and water safety. Together we can make an untold difference!!
