TEAM SPOTLIGHT: Saybrook Sharks 🦈🌊

Before there was a Naperville Swim Conference, there were four teams. Centennial Beach. Cress Creek. Maplebrook 1. And the Saybrook Sharks.

That's right — the Sharks didn't just join the NSC. They helped BUILD it. And more than five decades later, they are still one of the most dominant, committed, and electric programs in the entire conference.

Let's get into it.

🦈 CITY CHAMPS. AGAIN.
Saybrook won the City Championship in 2016. Then 2017. Then they let some time pass — and came roaring back to claim it again in 2025. Three City Championship titles. A legacy that spans decades. The Sharks don't just show up to compete. They show up to win.

🦈 TOP 5 EVERY YEAR SINCE 2003
Twenty-two consecutive years in the top 5 of the NSC. Through roster changes, coaching changes, and everything in between — the Sharks have never left the upper tier of this conference. That is not luck. That is a standard this program holds itself to every single summer.

🦈 CLASSIC AND CITY CHAMPIONS — WITH 90%+ ATTENDANCE
In 2025, the Sharks won BOTH the Classic AND the City Championship Meet. And they did it together — with over 90% of their roster showing up to Championships. Not 50%. Not 75%. Over 90%. When the Sharks say they're a team, they mean it in every sense of the word.

🦈 THE PRE-MEET FIGHT SONG & CHEER
Before every single meet, the Sharks come together for their fight song and team cheer. It's tradition. It's energy. It's the Saybrook Sharks telling the pool deck exactly who they are before a single swimmer touches the water. If you've ever witnessed it, you know. If you haven't — find a way to be there this summer.

🦈 HOST OF THE BOYS INVITATIONAL
The Sharks also have the honor of hosting the NSC Boys Invitational — one of the most anticipated events of the summer season. Another reminder that Saybrook isn't just part of this conference. They're at the heart of it.
