This is basically Memorial Day in a nutshell. ☀️😂

One part of the country is breaking out hoodies, dodging rainstorms, and wondering if summer is ever going to arrive… while Florida is already in full beach mode with turquoise water, sunshine, boats, and people living in flip flops all weekend long.

That’s one of the reasons so many people dream about escaping to Florida this time of year. Memorial Day weekend here feels like the official kickoff to summer: beach chairs lined up in the sand, ice cold drinks, warm Gulf water, and sunsets that make you forget what day it is.

Meanwhile, “up north” can still feel like late March with gloomy skies, chilly temperatures, and nonstop rain ruining outdoor plans.

Florida might have humidity and afternoon storms later in the summer… but Memorial Day weekend here is hard to beat.
