I have been working hard on my Reel site, But have been making sure to keep up with all my rod building friends, post those rods and have fun. I am here just don't have any new rods to post at the moment.

To all my rod building friends. I have been very busy with my Vintage reel parts and reel business that I have reduce my time with rod building, but have not deserted the game. I am on here and other forums keeping up with all your great rods.
I will be spending more time on rods after I get this reel business to a good place. I am still here but not as active. Great guys and girls in this hobby and God bless you all.

I have added another couple hundred reel parts to my website. In a couple weeks I will be adding a ton of eyes for rods. I will keep you posted. hundreds of eyes that will be in complete sets.

I have a website that has great information and also I sell stuff. That's what a lot of us do. But getting traffic seems to be a big problem. Most searches go to Ebay. So I created this group so all of us rod builders and reel guys can share our links and others with our same interest can visit each other's websites and share links. This will help all of us to receive more traffic. Who knows you may see something interesting. I don.t even know who has a website and who don't? I will place anyone's link on my site if it pertains to rod building or reels. Creating a community of links will help all of us. If you join this group please be nice and respectful.

I have seen where there have been inquiries in search of an estimating program for rod builders. In my research I could not locate one, so I have developed an excel program just for rod builders. This beta version that is free to anyone can be emailed is free. This is an MS Excel program. The first version will start out with 20 major manufactures. There will only be a small sample of each Mfg. components and parts in the beta version. There is also a page where you can add your own items to the program and they will become parts of the program just like all the other parts and components. The picture of components will not work in the beta version because the picture database is too large to send by email. This beta version is free to anyone that emails a request. There is one catch. You have to go to this link and email the six digit code number so I know you have at least looked at the instruction page. http://rods1studio.com/instructions.html. This code will be easy to find. After receiving your copy play around with it. If you have any question I would like for you to register in my forum and I will respond in the forum to any questions and discussion. http://rods1.freeforums.net/. The full version of the program has 20 manufactures and over 8,000 parts and components. There are 1,000s of pictures of guides, reel seats, handles, grips, and much more.
I know a few of the admin. don’t like advertising on their groups, but this is a tool that will help everyone when estimating the cost and pricing a custom rod. I am not selling anything with this post. I am giving away a free beta copy of this program.
I will be getting a lot of request so I will put a priority on the request that join the forum. Everyone will get their request emailed in a timely manner. For those already on the forum you will just have to email me a request.

My Grandson with 10.9 Lb. bass.

This is the first time I have ever built a Kevlar handle with a Manley ajust-a-butt extention. I haven't done anything but make the components there is nothing finished just placing components to see how they fit and look. This is a MHX1147f blank and the rod at the reel seat and back handle measure in the .600 plus dia. the Kevlar tube is .920 dia. this was tough making these parts. This is a 9' 6" surf rod. I will post more pictures during build. Sorry for the bad photos got in a hurry. This will be the first time I post any work. Little bashful after watching you guys post.
