Day 3 - Hurricane Relief - today was a big breakthrough. Today was the first day we saw hope in the eyes of survivors. The U.S. Army has arrived to the scene. 🇺🇸 this is a very big deal.
The hurricane survivors in this neighborhood had many children and they can’t hide the sadness. Today we had some wonderful surprises for these kids. (Swipe ➡️ to see the first smiles we’ve seen in days.)
Our little relief force is growing. Today we rolled 4 trucks deep, with triple the supplies from day one, and we teamed up with to go door-to-door and offer the usual relief supplies, but also cupcakes 🧁 from and hotdogs 🌭 from .
We also gave relief funds 💰to these families raised by and used some donated money to buy shoes, shirts and pants for people. 🩳👕👗👟👚
We handed out 100 bagged lunches made by and handed out 12 packed coolers to people that needed it most from we brought about $2000 worth of goods to this community all donated to our front door at CycleBar Naples. Our members gave us cash for gas, supplies, and just to hand people.
Today felt a little different, today was the first time we saw hope in the eyes of survivors. You can see it if you compare the photos today from the last two days.
And now that the Army🇺🇸 is here, the real aid begins. We will be going back tomorrow, and we still need donated items, but I have a feeling the the area we have been aiding is about to get real help, not just nice neighbors that want to help.
