Such an amazing weekend with Professor Roy Harris and our jiu jitsu family. Huge congratulations to John John J. Bruno Peter Serendensky as they both were promoted to blackbelt!
I’ve had the pleasure of training with Bruno for almost 18 years. It’s been an awesome journey and I have learned so much from and with him over the years and proud to have had a part in helping him achieve his blackbelt!
Peter’s mom brought him to class for the first time just over 12 years ago. At first impression I wasn’t sure how long he would last but it was not long until I saw his true heart, dedication, and perseverance. He became one of my most consistent students and always found a way to make it to class and never stopped asking questions. I helped many others make it to black belt but Peter is the one student I started teaching when he was a newbie at 13 all the way through the ranks to become my first start to finish blackbelt. I couldn’t be prouder to have him as my #1! While working his way through the Jiu Jitsu ranks and winning several tournaments, married his awesome wife Taryn, and had two wonderful kids all while working to become a helicopter pilot for the United States Army.
Ricardo has been long overdue for his purple belt. He is constantly helping and encouraging all those around him while polishing his own game. He is a true inspiration for me and all those around him. I am super proud to promote him to purple belt!
