Over my 30-plus year career, I’ve lived and worked all over the US, in amazing organizations, with incredible people, doing work I love.

In August, I mark 20 years living in Southwest Florida – so hard to believe! One of the things that struck me right away upon moving here was the intensity of our “high season”, which as we all know has only gotten more intense over the years. What also struck me was how there was little to no acknowledgement or marking of the end of season. We all just motor on, exhausted, working until we finally celebrate our accomplishments at the end of the year.

For years, I had this calling to create a community event for SWFL professionals that would address this missed opportunity. Last year I finally made it happen. I launched the Inaugural Purpose Journey® End-of-season Retreat & Celebration – a powerful, thoughtfully curated experience of replenishment, connection, and fun.

Here’s why:

• Marking interim milestones with sincere appreciation is IMPORTANT and MOTIVATING.
• Creating rituals to recognize our collective accomplishments and challenges is MEANINGFUL.
• Replenishing ourselves physically, mentally, and emotionally is ESSENTIAL.

Now, I realize closing the office and bringing your entire team to the retreat is not practical or feasible for every organization (but it is for some!). That’s why I invite you to participate in other ways:

The start of International Coaching Week is the perfect time to announce my exciting news...

I am exceedingly honored to share my appointment to the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Foundation Council of Ambassadors and to join seven other amazing global coaches to increase the impact of coaching for social impact!

One of our primary duties as Ambassadors is to serve as subject matter experts, supporters, and champions for ICF Chapters and coach members across the globe who are leading projects through the ICF Foundation Ignite Initiative.

Through pro bono coaching projects, the Ignite Initiative uses the collective power of ICF chapters, members and credential holders to accelerate the United Nations 2030 Agenda. When we share the power of coaching with our world, we have the power to ignite our local communities and spark a global impact.

For those of you who know me, you understand how meaningful this appointment is to me. Community impact through pro-bono coaching and professional services has been a foundation of my business since I founded Purpose Journey in 2008. This role allows me to leverage my nearly 30 years of professional experience from coaching and consulting to strategic communications and stakeholder engagement, strategy and outcomes management; and philanthropy - not to mention a lifetime of advocacy - starting when I was a teenager - for issues that are important to me.

Serving as an ICF Foundation Ambassador is a dream come true. Thanks so much to the ICFF team and Board of Trustees for inviting me to serve in this extraordinary way!

After several years as being ranked number 2 in the state in the Robert Wood Johnson County Health Rankings & Roadmaps, Collier County is now NUMBER ONE! The County Health Rankings & Roadmaps uses established figures and data to highlight the many community factors that influence health. These rankings are a snapshot of the health of counties across the country and they emphasize that health is not a singular effort, but a combined work in progress among community partners.
