A Offensive Preparation Football Guru! Offensive Line Help or Offensive Coordinating help is here. I am looking to help struggling offenses improve their production by enhancing linemen and the game plan preparation process.
Operating as usual
I thought I would start sharing a thought of the week here about how to improve your line play. Particularly at this time of the year when we all have front line players banged up or even missing some game time... The "Next Guy In" mentality is all about confidence. Confidence in the back-up going into the game, confidence of the guy actually going into the game, and confidence of the wing-men playing beside the back-up. So, as a coach what are you doing to instill confidence in each of the involved parties? I start by trusting the process I have developed to prepare my players for the challenges they will see on Friday nights. If I am teaching everyone sound technique, then all of my players should be prepared. Also, I don't focus on what the back-up does poorly,;rather, I focus on what the back up does well! Then I cater to his strengths! Probably a pruned down call sheet or limited in-game adjustments, but having a back-up in game requires me to adjust also!

As we begin to end uor Spring Practice time, it is important to remember the off season is the opportunity for the largest gains in strength and technique work!
