🚤Looking for 2 motor boats to volunteer as race committee and mark boats for Saturday February 28th.
⛽️ You will be reimbursed for gas and receive a free awards dinner ticket for the after party.
📍Race commitee boat: No sailboat racing experience or knowledge needed, as the race committee (consisting of 4 people and flags, as seen in pictures) will be there on the boat with you, to run the show. Boat to boat communication via radio. All you have to do is hang out on your boat, at anchor, close to the start and enjoy watching the race. Maybe even learn a little about racing.
Rumor has it “It’s the best seat in the house”
📍Mark boat: Will be moving inflatable marks for the course (yellow mark as seen in forth picture). The committee boat will be in communication working with you on where to drop the marks depending on the course and the wind direction. The rest of the time you can sit back and enjoy the race as well.
This is a great way for a power boat owner to get involved in a sailing club. You get to see exciting starts and finishes, as well as wind strategies happening on the course. The course start is usually around Naples Beach Pier.
Tell your friends, share this post, we need volunteers!

We had the pleasure of renowned professional sailor John Kretschmer yesterday, whom came to Naples to give a presentation. And boy what a turnout of an event!
The title of his presentation was The Big One! The long way back to Cape Horn. Where he had an amazing slide show of his adventures and mis-adventures along the way. The chart image shows all the tracks of his route. To give an idea of how massive this adventure was it extended over a 2-3 year time period.
Big thank you to John for taking the time to share his story with us. What an inspiring guy!
