Knee Pain? 😖 Hip Pain? 😑 Pelvic Issues?? 🤔

💥Tight ADDUCTORS💥 Could be the culprit!!

This muscle group is often missed when foam rolling (and skipping it might be your biggest mistake!!😳)

In this short video I show how to "search" for tight spots, then flex and extend the knee while applying pressure to gently release the tension.

**I highly recommend rolling POST-workout no matter how tired (or sweaty like i was here😅🤣) you are**

If you aren't comfortable foam rolling, a stick roller (or even a rolling pin) can do the job too!

👉Give it a shot - If you find this area to be extremely tender then that's a big 🚩 red flag 🚩that you NEED to be rolling it out!

👇Droppin' some fitness knowledge 💣 Bombs 💣

Proper LAT Engagement is a critical part of strong deadlift form (and preventing INJURY during this popular lift!)

However, a lot of lifters (even experienced ones) have a hard time getting these muscles to 🔥"fire"🔥 correctly!

This simple set up (using a LIGHT weight) and tension from a band pulling from the FRONT, is a great way to "trick" the body in to getting those lats to turn ON (working against the tension), keeping a nice neutral spine, and cranking out a killer lift!!

🙌 Improvise 😉

(👉All my busy moms/dads trying to find time to work, run errands, take care of the half-lings, AND make time to stay fit - I 👀 you!)

This morning I THOUGHT I had it all planned out...

- Client training til 8am
- Finish at least 2 programs
- Accounting and some admin work
-Squeeze in a run to get the baby down for a nap
- Quick stop by the grocery store
- Pick up the other half-ling from school at noon

BUT rain (a LOT of rain 😅) decided to spoil our run 1/2 MILE in...

Soo what do you do if you still want to get in some leg work AND have a fussy baby already in the stroller on the brink of nap...??

💥Single Leg Stroller Squats of Course!!💥

(Regular squats and lunges would both work here too!)

It DID take 5 sets of these bad boys...BUT we achieved nap time success while still getting our sweat on. #goalaccomplished

🤔 Moral of the story??

It's critical to have a PLAN...BUT it's equally important to be able to improvise when necessary. Not every workout will be perfect...but there are no bad workouts!

Just find a way to give your body the MOVEMENT that it craves! 💪

💥POSTURE💥- THE SEQUEL😉

3 progressions for SCAPUPAR PUSH UPS

This is another "must have" in my opinion when talking about correcting/strengthening posture.

Key here is to make sure to focus the movement within the shoulder blades - NOT the entire spine. Try to engage and "lock down" your core to focus on strength and mobility specifically in the scapular/T-Spine region.

Only progress to the next level once you have mastered the movement.

2-3 sets of 10-15 reps of these bad boys 😎 should do the trick 👌

One of my FAVORITE simple (but not easy 😉) corrective exercises for posture and shoulder health... "PRONE "W's"

💥NOTE💥Pay attention to how I "set" my shoulders DOWN and BACK before every rep to ensure proper engagement of back and rear delt muscles.

👉2-4 sets of 5×5second hold between sets while lifting would make a great "active rest"!!

👉2 sets of 10×5second holds would be great as a daily strength/posture corrective!

You could also do these standing facing a wall if laying on your stomach is not comfortable/accessible to you at this time. ❤

Ladies chin ups are not just for "the boys"! We may have to work a little harder for them - But it only makes it THAT much sweeter when you get them!

My first attempt at chin ups 8 weeks Post-partum I was back down to ONE (rough) chin up 😳 ... Today back up to 3 SETS and I fought for my new PP record of SIX!! - Next Goal - TEN 🤨

Never Give Up.

This month's goal was to incorporate 1x/week of "obstacle run" training to get back in the groove to run Spartan and Savage races!

I have to say is NOT my favorite...

BUT I like to say it's a necessary fitness evil 🙄

Interval (metabolic/HIIT) training delivers SO many awesome health benefits (especially when incorporated between strength training sessions)...That you're really only cheating yourself if you're NOT incorporating ANY interval work in to your weekly fitness routine.

Give those hips some ❤love❤ with this awesome dynamic hip stretch!!

The "hip flexors" are not just A muscle, but a GROUP of muscles that work together to flex the hip joint.

It's important to stretch the hip from multiple directions to make sure you are increasing mobility through the entire group of muscles.

This is one of my favorite stretches because it does just that!

Try rotating internally and externally as shown in the video (slowly!) above for 10 repetitions on each leg, and see how happy your hips are after! 😃🙌

The 🚫NO EXCUSES🚫 Exercise (Because you don't need any equipment)...

Men love them...

Women hate them...

...

🙌PUSH UPS!🙌

Honestly I even have a love/hate relationship with this most fundamental exercise - and I'm a personal trainer! 🤣

However, Push Ups really are a killer exercise that recruits a large number of muscles - which means they offer a BIG bang for your buck (no matter how much you might hate them lol)

Chest, Core, Shoulders, Triceps, and Serratus ALL working together to burn calories and build muscle! 🤯

Form is KEY of course!

Once you can perform a push up it doesn't mean you're "done" with then forever either- Try upping the intensity with variations like:

✅Pulsing
✅Adding resistance
✅Decreasing stability

💥If you're a "newbie" try elevating on your counter top, a chair, stairs, or lower to your knees until you can keep your alignment💥

Watch out for common mistakes mentioned in the video like:

❌Piked hips
❌Elevated/Protracted shoulders
❌Arched Back
