Its been said motor racing has plenty of its own superstitions (e.g., avoiding green cars, peanuts in the garage, certain numbers like 13, or whistling in the pits). Before resumption of the petite LeMans enduro race's 2nd hour the photographer couldn’t help but notice a turkey vulture flying around turn one. He thought a buzzard circling overhead before a race could playfully be spun as an auspicious sign for "clearing the track" of bad energy or past failures. A reminder for drivers to stay patient, use the "thermals" (momentum, strategy), and rise above competitors. A call for rebirth—maybe a strong comeback or breakthrough performance.

Registration is open for the New England Region SCCA race weekend #4. Club racers can earn championship points (NER/NERRC) AND support the region’s annual fund raiser: Race Against Leukemia (RAL). Racing includes all wheel-to-wheel competition classes plus extra run groups for SCDA1.com Club Racing Experience (CRE) and Open Wheel Driving Experience (OWRE).
