Before your feeds are overwhelmed with pink in October, I want to take a pause. I want you to see all my dancing videos, and I want you to know who it is that’s dancing. The last slide is my reality. Maybe it’s yours with a different name.
My story isn’t “she beat cancer.” I have rung a bell, four times actually, but I’m not done. I had a doctor ask me yesterday when I will be done with my treatment. I’ll be done when it stops working.
I don’t share these slides for applause and comments. I definitely don’t share them for medical advice or to be sold something. I share them because I don’t want anyone to have this disease. I want you to catch it before I did. I want you to do self checks. If you’re 40, get a mammogram. Don’t let them tell you you’re too young. If you’re perfectly healthy, find the movement you enjoy and do that. Do it as a celebration for all the people who can’t. You can always come dance or lift with me. And please remember, two things can be true at one time.
