Don’t just choose to be big; choose to be great!
When our goals are unidimensional, it causes us to drop the ball with other things that matter.
If our only goal is to make a lot of money, it can lead to doing so in ways that go against our character.
If our only goal is to lose weight, it can lead us to doing it in an unhealthy, unsustainable way.
If our only goal is to get promoted, it can lead us to talk s**t about our peers or coworkers.
Don’t execute your goals in a vacuum.
Attack the goal of making more money, but do so in a moral, high-character way.
Have the goal of losing weight, but be patient and do it in a way that sets you up for long term success.
Have the goal of getting promoted, but it’s not a zero sum game. You don’t need to put down someone else in order for you to be lifted up.
Set goals not just to achieve something; but to become someone.

At Best You we have fun inside and out of the gym!
Our Best You community is having a hell of a year so far.
(1) We have 3 new amazing coaches
(2) We’re off to a great 1st half of this 10-Week Transformation
(3) Best You has had 8 people get married this year - 5 total weddings
And there’s so much more to come.
I love our people and community so much. I love spending time at their weddings, the happy hours, inside the gym of course, parties, and more.
Hoping we can find a space for Best You HQ to call home sometime soon.
Nothing yet, but we’re looking!
If you are your own biggest critic, I want you to hear me out… I know being your own biggest critic can sound like a good thing because you push yourself hard and have high standards for yourself. But standards and goals shouldn’t just make a critic out of you… The purpose of a goal is to call you to become a greater version of yourself, not strike you down when you fall short of it. The purpose of a goal is to get you to aim up. Not berate you for missing the mark. Jesus told the woman who committed adultery in John 8:11 “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.” He didn’t let the pharisees stone her to death. He granted her mercy. But he didn’t say go on and keep living your life the way you’re living it. He said sin no more. That’s what the role of a goal is. That’s what the role of an ideal should be. 1. It should provide mercy when appropriate 2. And call you to be better moving forward Rinse and repeat. That’s what a great coach does. That’s what a loving Father does. Gives you mercy and grace when needed, but challenges you to be better. That’s what our internal dialogue should sound like, too. Don’t be your own biggest critic; be your own best coach.
