Top Hell Mary finishers!!!! Great work out there this year. I was impressed no one got overheated and no one got shocked by the Icy machine.

One of my favorite Hell Mary traditions has nothing to do with running.

It’s the food.

Every year our runners, crews, families, and volunteers show up with incredible dishes.

This year, my wife Stephanie—a self-proclaimed foodie and host of Local on 2, where she spends her days trying some of Nashville’s best food—and my friend Cullen, a culinary expert, had the tough job of judging the entries.

There were some standout creations: an Oreo on a sour candy strip made to look like a finisher medal, a sweet treat that looked exactly like sunny-side-up eggs and bacon, plus incredible cobblers, cakes, and plenty of other dishes that could’ve taken home the title.

But this year’s Best Dish Award went to the S’mores Dip.

Such a simple, brilliant idea. It was basically a perfectly melted s’more in a dish—just grab a graham cracker and dip it in.

It’s traditions like this that make Hell Mary feel more like a family reunion than a race. Thank you to everyone who brought a dish and shared it with everyone. You made the weekend even more special.
