🚨 BREAKING: Mark Dowdle is named the 2026 Big’s Backyard Ultra Team USA Champion after covering 717 km (445 miles) in 107 loops 🤯

Note: In 2026, Big’s Backyard Ultra introduces the World Team Championship format, with every nation competing simultaneously on its own home course. Team USA races on the original course in Laz’s backyard in Bell Buckle, Tennessee. Each country fields 15 runners, and every yard contributes to the team’s total.

Mark Dowdle was the last runner standing in Tennessee, completing 107 loops to become the 2026 Big’s Backyard Ultra champion and bring the US race to an end.

But the world championship is still underway. Belgium’s Merijn Geerts and Ivo Steyaert continue running in Retie, keeping the team competition alive. The world title will go to the nation with the highest combined yardage. Until the last Belgian runner stops, the battle between the USA and Belgium remains undecided.
