Natchitoches Central (0-2) at Sterlington (1-1) - 7 p.m.

The Chiefs look to flip the script on a couple of frustrating games that for the first half of both games were up for grabs. But the second half was unkind to NCHS in both games as they gave up 28 unanswered points in a 42-20 loss to Sam Houston in Week 1. Then they were tied with North DeSoto 21-21 at halftime before the Griffins scored 35 unanswered in the second half.

This week, the Chiefs' hit the road to face a team that doesn't make things any easier. The Sterlington Panthers, the reigning back-to-back Division III non-select state champions, are coached by former St. Mary's head coach Lee Doty since 2017. The Panthers two losses last year were to Division I non select state champion Ouachita 33-21 and D1 Non select semifinalist Neville 28-21. They were also defeated last week by the team they beat in the finals last year, Jena, in Week 2 34-20.

Lakeview head football coach Lawrence Seawood on this week’s game vs. Magnolia School of Excellence for Homecoming:

“Game this week is a big game for us. We haven’t won a home game since September 15, 2023. The goal last week was to get off losing streak list. This week is all about handling business at home in front of our fans for our homecoming game. We are looking forward to showing our community, family, and friends all the hard work we have been putting in behind the scenes. Our mindset and focus for this week is to make everyone a believer that the Gators are back and ready to compete.”
