As our 2026 Ness County Fair has wrapped up, we want to send a special THANK YOU to so many people who helped put on our events here at the Ness County Arena.
🐴 Monday night was the 4-H and Open horse show, where we had a great turn out of kids and several open riders. Thank you to all who participated, their parents, our judge Clint Milliman, announcer and entries Robyn Trussel, ring steward Danielle Foos, announcer Brittany Nichepor, gate woman Stephanie Rider, and all community members who came to watch! A special thank you to Chris and Ira Sehl-Anderson, who have worked hard on getting the ground into excellent shape for the previous KWHA shows and this fair week!! Please stop by BTI of Ness City and thank them for providing us a tractor to utilize all week! We appreciate the hometown support!
🤠 Friday evening was our county favorite Lil Buckaroo Rodeo - we had over 40 contestants this year!! A huge THANK YOU to Garret and Shelby Flax for the sheep, Rider family for the goats, Jerod Horchem for announcing, Stephanie Rider for keeping track of scores, Jade/Danielle/Maddy and Brittany Nichepor for wrangling contestants, ALL of the guys and gals who chipped in and rounded up escaped sheep (Cogan Slagle, Dillon McVicker, Caleb Foos, Makenna Fritts, Riley Noll, Maddy Nichepor), Makenna and Brittany for pushing sheep and taking entries, our AWESOME rodeo clowns (pic below: Hudson Woods, Jordan and Avery Keuhn, Broxton Gall and Canyon Foos), all of our prize contributors (Frigid Creme, Western Fuel and Supply, Forelanes) and especially all of our contestants (and parents) for braving the heat to join us!! It takes a lot to put this event on, but we LOVE to see these kids participate in this!
🛢️ Saturday wrapped up our events with an evening of barrel racing - it was a HOT night but several riders showed up and laid down some awesome runs. A huge thank you to the barrel setters (Chris Anderson, Cory Webber, Makenna Fritts), tractor driver Stephen Nichepor, announcer Brittany Nichepor, office help Katlynn Bourne and Danielle Foos, gate woman Stephanie Rider, and all the contestants that participated on such a HOT evening. We couldn’t put these events on without the amazing community members that step up and help out!
❤️ At the end of the day, we want to thank everyone for their support over the last few years of getting this arena up and going again. Through the barrel races, KWHA shows, concessions stands, donations and free-will donation suppers we put on; we’ve officially raised enough funds to purchase supplies for a new arena! We are EXCITED to get this built in fall of 2026. Not only is Ness County Arena important to our local horse riders, but we want to continue to offer events for our local community to attend! Stay tuned for updates on the new arena!
