Field hockey became an official girls varsity and junior varsity sport at the high school for the fall 2012 season. Prior to that, the varsity team, junior varsity team, and a middle school team (6/7/8th) were part of the New Albany Field Hockey Club, Inc. that was founded in 2007. The middle school teams / youth programs are still operating under New Albany Field Hockey Club, Inc. and offers the sport through the New Albany Joint Parks & Recreation District, New Albany, Ohio.
