πββοΈ Senior Spotlight: Kate Elizabeth Govin πββοΈ
From her early days with Surge to her final high school season, Kate Elizabeth Govin has been a dedicated and driven athlete while representing Pieper High School. Over the past five years with Surge, she has developed into a strong competitor, bringing speed and excitement to every race she swims.
π₯ Favorite Event:
β’ 50 Freestyle
π Future Plans:
Kate plans to attend college, with her final decision still to be determined. She has big goals for her future and hopes to become either an orthodontist or a veterinarian.
πΆ Favorite Memory:
At the Round Rock meet, Kate was the #1 seed in the 50 Free and got to select the song for the super final. She chose βFire the Cannons (1812 Overture),β making it a fun and memorable moment!
Kateβs determination, personality, and competitive spirit have made her an important part of the Surge family. We are so proud of her and excited to see where her journey takes her next!

πββοΈ Senior Spotlight: Kai Adam Anderson πββοΈ
From his first days in the water to his final high school season, Kai has been a dedicated and spirited member of the SRG family while attending Hill Country College Preparatory High School. He has been swimming for 8 years and competing on SRG for 5, growing into a strong and determined athlete.

β’ 200 Fly
π Future Plans:
Kai will attend the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology to study Electrical Engineering, where he also plans to continue his swimming career.
π Favorite Memory:
Kai will never forget one grueling punishment fly set, after which Coach K told him he was a future to 200 flyer. That moment has stuck with him and showed him that not only is he his capable of overcoming hard obstacles, but he can make them his strengths as well.
From mastering all Surge values to leading by example, Kaiβs hard work, humor, and heart have made a lasting impact on SRG. We are so proud of you and canβt wait to see all you accomplish next!

πββοΈ Senior Spotlight: Jason Raephel Hufford πββοΈ
From his very first race at just 3 years old to his final high school season, Jason Hufford has built a lifelong passion for swimming through dedication, growth, and perseverance. He began swimming summer recreation with the Brighton Green Gators in Richmond, Virginia, where he competed every summer through age 16. Along the way, he also swam for the Manchester Marlins YMCA team before joining Quest Swimming at age 11 in 2019, continuing there through age 15. He later spent a year with SwimRVA before moving to Bulverde and becoming part of the Surge Aquatics family.
Jason also competed at the high school level for Clover Hill High School in Richmond, Virginia during his freshman and sophomore years before transferring to Smithson Valley High School, where he completed his junior and senior seasons.
π Future Plans:
Jason plans to attend Texas Tech University, where he will study Electrical Engineering. We are proud to have him as part of the Surge family and canβt wait to see what he accomplishes next!

πββοΈ Senior Spotlight: Andrew Coleman Young πββοΈ
From his first days in the water to his final high school season, Andrew Coleman Young, born in Charlotte, NC and later moving to Texas in 2012, has been a dedicated and spirited member of the SRG family while attending Davenport High School. He began his SRG journey in 2019 at just 11 years old, diving into competitive swimming for the very first time with two practices a week, and has since grown into a strong and versatile swimmer.
π₯ Favorite Events:
β’ Breaststroke (his specialty!)
β’ Sprint Freestyle & Sprint Butterfly, especially for relays
π Future Plans:
Andrew will attend Baylor University this fall, where he plans to study Pre Law. He has been awarded the Baylor Distinction Award for his academic achievements, an incredible honor! He is also looking forward to staying active by joining a club swim team or triathlon club on campus.
πΎ Favorite Memory:
One of Andrewβs most cherished and funniest memories involves his beloved cat, Lilly. After practices, Lilly would curl up on his suits and towels, drawn to the chlorine scent and even perch right on his head! Though she passed away in September, she remains a special part of his journey and is deeply missed. β€οΈ

Congratulations to our 2026 Texas Age Group State swimmers: Paitly, Liana, and Luke.
All three advanced to finals and represented Surge incredibly well. A special congratulations to Liana on setting two TAGS records. Now the fastest 13β14 girl in Texas history in the 100 Butterfly and 200 Butterfly.
