This weekend, we traded time on the field for time together! 💙💛 We spent part of our off weekend supporting Kopelyn as she heals. It will be a while before she can physically join us on the field, but she will always be part of this team. 🥎❤️

The girls also had an opportunity to volunteer for a good cause San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Haunted Hayride and had an amazing night! I can’t wait to include more of our girls in future opportunities to give back together.

Being a team goes beyond games and practices. It’s showing up for each other, serving others, and creating bonds and memories that will last far longer than the numbers on a scoreboard.

Our first team Zoom focused on growing our softball IQ! 🥎💻 We reviewed footage from past tournaments, and the girls were actively answering questions, learning, and talking through plays together. We had LOTS of laughs! Proud of their engagement and willingness to keep getting better—on and off the field!

These two showed why they’re MVPs AND Team Captains—stepping up when needed, leading by example, and competing for their teammates!

Maddie was also a top base stealer and an absolute BEAST behind the plate, working hard for her pitchers and keeping runners on their toes!

Marlie was one of our top hitters and base stealers, delivering a triple AND a double! She also stepped up to play 3B and into the circle and shut down innings when we needed her most!

Proud of their effort, leadership, and the heart they bring to this team. Keep leading the way, girls!

This weekend wasn’t the outcome we wanted, but these numbers show there were still plenty of good things happening!
We have accomplishments to celebrate and room to improve. Now it’s time to take what we learned, get back to work, and prepare for our November tournament!
Keep growing, keep making adjustments, and keep striving to be better than yesterday. Trust the process and always Team Over Me!

Please keep our Kopelyn #22 in your prayers. She injured her knee during a play this weekend and has a recovery journey ahead. We’re praying there’s no longterm damage, and your Impact Gold family is sending you lots of love, hugs, and prayers. We can’t wait to have you back with us when you’re ready!

This weekend didn’t go as we had hoped, but it showed us what we’re capable of and what we still need to work on.

Saturday was a tough start. We had some good moments and learned what needed to be fixed moving forward. This morning, the girls came out ready—our bats were hot, pitching was on point, and the energy was high! We earned some big wins.

Unfortunately, one of our players dislocated her knee and had to leave. Seeing a teammate hurt shook the girls, and we’re thinking of her and hoping for a smooth recovery.

In our next game, our pitching stayed strong, but our defense didn’t give it the support it needed, and we couldn’t pull through. We’re still learning that the game isn’t over until it’s over. One bad inning cannot decide our effort for the rest of the game. We have to reset, make adjustments, and keep fighting for each other—even when things get tough.

As their coach, I’ll keep pushing them because I know what they’re capable of. These lessons are hard, but learning to respond to adversity is part of becoming elite players and teammates.

Time to put in the work to improve and prepare for our next tournament in a few weeks. Goal is always better than yesterday, and trust the process.

Not every practice starts with physical warm-ups. Sometimes mindsets need a reset, and sometimes the girls need time to talk about expectations, goals, and what’s been on their minds.

As a coach, today’s open conversation helped clear up miscommunication and gain a better understanding of things that were really going on. That clarity was a relief, but what meant the most was hearing how these girls stood up for each other. It’s reassuring to know they have each other’s backs and feel comfortable speaking up.

Everything happens for a reason, and today reminded us how grateful we are for the girls we have. We have a great group, and moments like this help us listen, reset, and grow stronger together.

Growth can be uncomfortable, and that’s OK. Team over Me means holding yourself accountable, and being there for each other. We are only going up from here!
