Winter is a great time to take ballet class! Whether you are starting from scratch or coming back, the studio is always warm and a great way to stay in shape and enjoy music and movement.

In physical therapy this week for achilles tendonitis, I found some good tools that could be helpful for others looking to increase strength in the foot, tendon and calf: This pad is great for standing on one foot and balancing, the CanDo Balance pad. Also, when doing theraband foot exercises, good to add one that involves a partner pulling the strap forward (while it's over the top of the foot) while you pull the foot back. We do a lot of pushing down, but not pulling back.

This is kind of long, but it is a very good analysis of how to do pirouettes. (Spoiler alert, it's all about your core, and your alignment). I say many of these things to you guys, but maybe hearing it from a pro and seeing it will be a really helpful combination.
