We are proud to announce Mark Songy as our next Director of Athletics!

With more than 30 years of Catholic League experience, multiple Louisiana Coach of the Year honors, and a state championship to his name, Coach Songy has already brought a championship standard and proven leadership to Holy Cross, and now he will lead our Athletics Department forward.

He’s built winning programs. He’s formed young men. He understands what excellence looks like, and how to sustain it.

A commanding 6–0 decision showcased Anthony’s dominance and focus from start to finish. Locked in. Locked down. State gold secured becoming a 2x state champion. (first victory in 2024 at 113)

With an explosive 25–7 Technical Fall (3:57), Robert left no doubt on the biggest stage. Pace, pressure, and precision, championship wrestling at its finest.

Rylee Reeves ’26 is your 2026 LHSAA Division I State Champion 🏆

A dominant 16–6 Major Decision sealed the title and capped off an incredible tournament run. Composed, powerful, and relentless from whistle to whistle, Rylee stood on top when it mattered most.

Holy Cross mourns the passing of William Frederick “Billy” Truax ’60, a true Holy Cross Man and cherished brother. From Holy Cross to LSU, and on to a Super Bowl VI championship with the Dallas Cowboys, Billy’s life reflected excellence, humility, and dedication. As a member of the Holy Cross Sports Hall of Fame, his legacy will always be part of our community.

We extend our prayers and condolences to the Truax family and all who loved him. May he rest in peace.

Holy Cross Wrestling opened the season with a statement!

In our first dual of the year, the Tigers battled through each weight class and came away with a 36–34 victory over Jesuit. From clutch pins to gritty decisions, our guys wrestled with heart and carried our team to a W.

Our playoff run came to an end on Friday with a 24–0 loss to Archbishop Rummel. But one game doesn’t define this team.

What does define them is the work they put in every day… the early mornings, the late nights, the bruises, the brotherhood, and the heart they brought to every snap.
