Got a little extra motivation to finish the marathon strong in Ogden Utah tomorrow, he is going to pace me for the race. I met him yesterday, he is a really nice guy.
On our way to Utah for the Ogden marathon, got to the airport 45 minutes early and was told we missed our flight. We were then told that we could fly to Houston but we would have to wait for the next flight to Utah in the morning, and the person telling us this bull s**t had the personality of a rattlesnake! Is it in the job description of all airport employees that you must be a as***le to work here ? There will be 3,000 people in the marathon and hundreds of volunteers out there and I promise you not a one will have a bad attitude or be pi**ed at the world. Thanks to all those who donate their time for the rest of us to torrtcher ourselves!
There is no age limit when it comes to starting a exercise program, it is only to late when you are dead. So if you think you or to old just check your pulse, and if you still have one you are good too go!
If you want the best bang for your buck when you are exercising you want to keep your rate of perceived exertion from 6-8 on a scale of 1-10.
It is always good to know your limits but at the same time do not cheat yourself out of a good workout. Listen to your body, and learn the difference between really being fatigued, and just being lazy and not pushing yourself. I will agree that sometimes it is down right hard to get through a workout, but we all know that when you tuff it out there is no better feeling of self accomplishment. Be consistent and never backdown from the challenge. You will soon come to realize just how strong you really are! Never underestimate what the human body can adapt to, just push it to its limits. Don't let a few bumps and bruises along the way stop you from testing your limits, just dig in and see what you are made of and you just might surprise yourself!
What is more important when you are in the gym, actually working out or taking selfies? Just saying, come on people!
If you are just starting a new healthy way of living you must first be patient, do not expect things to be easy or too change overnight. Set attainable goals for yourself, and give yourself credit for all your accomplishments no matter how small they may seem. Do not expect things to go as planed everyday, and be prepared for a few setbacks. Just remember that everyone has a starting point and it's not perfect. If you have a bad day it's ok, just don't let it derail you. Remember nothing worth having comes easy, the harder you work for it the more you appreciate it, and most important factor of all, is knowing that you deserve it!
If you are looking for a quick fix that does not include the ingredients of good nutrition and busting your ass good luck! Oh and by the way, if you do find it please let me know so I can get some of that easy way out for myself.
Your biggest competitor is yourself, so don't waste your time nor your energy trying to impress everyone else. All you can do is be your best every time out,and that's all the accolades you will ever need.
Eat to live instead of living to eat. Exercise to be fit and not for weight loss, if you want the weight loss clean up the way you eat. Combine the two and you will soon see the results of your hard work.
