A huge congratulations to our combined BigKats team for earning 3rd Place and finishing the day with a 3-1 record!
The team opened the morning with a dominant 56-22 victory over All-American Wrestling Club before falling to Gladiator Academy 77-6. Rather than letting the setback define them, they regrouped and responded with a strong 51-24 win over Cat 5. In the 3rd Place Finals, they completed an impressive redemption story by avenging a 43-34 loss to UFM Wrestling from the previous day with a hard-fought 39-33 victory to bring home 3rd Place.
Our coaching staff could not be more proud of this group. This team truly represented what wrestling in the Bayou Region can be when athletes come together with a common goal. Our lineup featured wrestlers from St. Charles Parish, Lafourche Parish, and Terrebonne Parish, along with some special help from our heavyweight representing Walker Wrestling Club.
This weekend was a great example of wrestlers setting aside school rivalries, clubs colors, working together, and competing for something bigger than themselves. We are proud of the effort, resilience, and sportsmanship displayed by every athlete who stepped on the mat.
3rd Place. 3-1 Record. One Team. BigKats. π

Wish our combined BigKats team good luck as they take on the brackets side of the tournament.
They started off the morning with a 56-22 win over All-American Wrestling Club and a 77-6 loss to Gladiator Academy. Their next match in the consolation Semi-Finals will be against the winner of Cat 5 Wrestling Club or Missi Wrestling Club.

Our coaching staff had planned to meet at the Bridge Park to eat and celebrate the end of the school year with the team, but due to inclement weather moving into the area, those plans have been canceled.
We will also not be holding practice today.
Enjoy the start of your summer break, and weβll see you all Tuesday.

BEACH WRESTLING ON THE BAYOU
Saturday, May 23, 2026
Thibodaux Regional Sports Complex
Is it Folkstyle? Freestyle? Neither! Beach wrestling is a real sanctioned sport under United World Wrestling and USA Wrestling, governing bodies for world and national wrestling tournaments of all styles.
Whatβs it look like? The βmatβ is a 23 foot wide ring in the sand. Matches are one period that is three minutes long. Scoring points is simple: push them out, take them down, or throw to the back. First to three points wins!
Check out our website for more info and videos! https://www.deltatrainingcenter.com/beach-wrestling-tournament
But where you gonna get a beach in Thibodaux? Thibodaux Regional Sports Complex boasts a top notch beach volleyball facility. Our rings will fit there just fine.
Do I need a USA Wrestling membership to sign up? No, anyone can sign up to participate. Adults and teens will be asked to provide their years of grappling experience (wrestling or jiu jitsu) to keep it as even as possible.
How do I sign up? Registration runs Monday, May 4 to Thursday, May 21 on USAbracketing.com. Free account required, but itβs big value. This allows for easy registration process, bracket set up, and smooth running the day of the tournament.
