The Riptide Masters swimmers showcased their resolve and dedication at the Open Water Swim Challenge and Aquathon in Cedar Hill, Texas, just outside of Dallas, on Sunday, July 13th, achieving impressive results. The following athletes deserve recognition for their accomplishments:

Kelly Denning: 1st Female in Age Group and 2nd Female Overall in the 1,500m

Sara Gillen: 1st Female Overall in the 2.4 mile

Stephen Kernion: Aquathon Olympic, 1st Male Overall

Aaron Schneider: 1st Male Overall in the 2.4 mile

Riptide Swimming NOLA is proud to announce Stephen Kernion as our first US Master’s Swimming Open Water National Champion! Stephen Kernion's impressive feat included a 1st place finish in the 5k and 3rd place in the 1 mile for his age group. His teammates also demonstrated exceptional skill, with Aaron Schneider taking 2nd place in both the 1 mile and 5k for his age group, and Jake Rickoll securing 10th place in the 5k. The team's tireless efforts and daily commitment to practice have been instrumental in their success, allowing them to overcome the challenges of open water competition.
