Just reflecting on the weekend, and
I couldn’t more proud of these two competitors I’m blessed to work with.

And I’m excited for what’s ahead for them now in the IFBB!

When it comes to becoming your Best, taking a quantum leap from one year, to the next.
It doesn’t happen by just giving it your 💯 3-4 months a year!

What else in life, can you only go
“All in” for 25-33% of the time, and reach your very best!??
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

Those who will have success come summer and later in 2023, they are on it NOW!
This is when shows are won and lost, not waiting till your 12 weeks out to get serious.

If you want to be your absolute best, and give yourself the best chance to succeed and really make that quantum leap, then your start date should have been yesterday!

CARDIO.... How much is too much?

The Answer to getting Results is not to keep upping the Cardio, Eating Less and Less and taking more and more Cutters/Fat Burners

Recently I’ve been coming across so many competitors that are eating hardly nothing.
Their diets rarely ever change, yet their doing 2+ hours of cardio….
6-7 days a week!!!
Yet, their bodies are stuck!

If this is you!
🛑 Stop doing what you’re doing!

There are other ways to get the physique you want without having live on the cardio and eat like a bird.

We all know that to get lean cardio is likely going to be in your regimen, but doing too much cardio can most definitely be counterproductive! 🚨

If you're spending hours on the treadmill, or stair master, you can actually lose muscle. Unless your goal is to lose muscle, and just become a smaller version of yourself, you need to take a smarter and more effective approach.

THE GREAT CARDIO MYTH
There is this horrible misperception in our society about fat loss. A lot of people think that if they starve themselves and do two or three hours of cardio each day, the fat is just going to melt off, and they will get the body they always wanted.

When actually performing too much cardio will put your body in a catabolic state and elevate your CORTISOL Levels
and you will burn hard-earned muscle.

If a Baseball player hits the ball on average 3 out of 10 at bats for his career, he’s a Hall of Famer. Yes, that means striking out 7 out of 10.
Missing more than he hits…..

All the Pro Bodybuilders I know, have lost more times on stage than they have won!

Even the All Time Greats.

HOW YOU RESPOND TO DEFEAT!

Do you allow it to get you down and derail you to throw in the towel and quit?

If achieving your goals was easy, everyone would do it, and there would be no difficulty.
But we all know at some point or another, there will be speed bumps, detours, Obstacles that you will face and have to overcome in order to make it to your destination.

Maybe it’s simply that the ride is not going is smooth as you envisioned it would be.
Then next, to make matters worse, you get hit blindsided by a certain obstacle that at the moment, it feels like it will be impossible to overcome it.

That your goals and dreams are gonna have to be put on hold for the moment.
Maybe you lost your job, maybe you had to move, maybe you going through a breakup, or a death in the family.
At these times, you may call on a friend, and many would say “ it’s okay to put things on hold, it’s okay to quit, I mean look what all you are going through!” ___________________________________

The reason most would tell you that, is simply because most people quit the moment life throws them a curve ball.

They run towards comfort, they run towards the familiar, and run away from discomfort.

That’s why so very few ever really reach their Best, and never feel happy and fulfilled!

I saw a quote once and it says...
“Obstacles are put in our way to see if we really want to reach our Goals, or if we just thought we did.” And I couldn’t agree more.

Whatever your Goal is, just know that you will run into Obstacles, you will have to overcome adversity. But when that happens, focus on Why you got started on your journey in the first place, and who else will be effected for the positive by you achieving this Goal.
Focus on that, and how bad you really want it.

Aristotle said it best,
“If you want to avoid CRITICISM, do NOTHING, say NOTHING and be NOTHING!”

Mental toughness, broken down to it's root, is really about becoming a master of your own emotions. Being able to focus on the task at hand, day after day, blocking out the noise. Many sports experts say, the fastest way to differentiate an AMATEUR from a PRO is to observe how they respond to CRITICISM!

Amateurs are shocked when they are criticized, and many are emotionally wounded. Whereas Professional performers expect criticism as a part of being a champion and are rarely rattled by it.

The mentally tough expect little from their amateur thinking counterparts, and when they are criticized, they shrug it off and chalk it up as amateur mud slinging.
Professional performers rarely criticize other people, they're too busy working on their craft to get wrapped up in other people's business. They don't deal in personalities, they deal in ideas. How to perform better.

Whatever your profession is, or whatever your aspiring to be, if you worry about everyone who is going to praise you or criticize you, you will never be your best!
Feeding too much into praise and compliments can cause you to get too relaxed and complacent,
Feeding too much into insults and criticism might put a dent in your self-confidence. Causing you to believe you're lessor than you are.
Both or undeniably a distraction that you do not need to feed into. Take it with a grain of salt and stay your course.
The only thing that you should be concerned with, are you doing all you can do to be your very best?
Others opinions shouldn't detour you from doing that.
