Part 7 - Emotional First Aid for Christian Women After Separation or Divorce

💔💔 YOUR EX MOVED ON QUICKLY...YOUR HEART DIDN'T

A lady in my Bible Study once said something that stunned me. It wasn’t what I expected.

I’d been doing all the “right” things after my divorce.

Seeing a counselor. Praying. Forcing myself to go to church.
Trying to be strong. Trying to be gracious. Trying to move forward.

Everyone thought I was doing “so well.”
I even received compliments for how I “handled things.”

But they didn't see the ugly tears shed behind closed doors.

The nights I lay awake believing I “wasn’t good enough.”
The way my chest tightened when I saw a happy couple holding hands.
The silent ache of feeling replaced.
The loneliness that didn’t feel like loneliness…
It felt like one loss stacked on top of another.

Loss of my marriage.
Loss of my dreams.
Loss of myself and the only identity I knew, that of being a wife and mother.

One afternoon, after listening to me question (again) why it still hurt so much and why I wasn’t “over it by now,” she looked at me and said:

“You’ve been surviving, Debra, but you haven’t taken the time to truly heal.”

I didn’t understand, so I asked her to explain.

She said, “Survival is a skill. Healing is a choice, a surrender. You know how to push through the pain. You don’t know how to lay it down and hand it over to God.”

As if I wasn’t already broken, when she said that, something in me broke even more.

Because she was right.
I knew how to function.

Keeping the house. Bringing the kids to school.
Smiling a pretend smile and giving myself check marks on a To-Do List because I had become so forgetful.

But I didn’t know how to let go of the pain.

I didn’t know how to stop bracing for the next disappointment.
I didn’t know how to stop replaying the betrayal.
I didn’t know how to stop assuming everyone else was worth choosing over me.

I didn’t know how to heal.

I told her I was exhausted.
Not physically, emotionally…
just tired in the core of my very being.

Tired of pretending I was okay.
Tired of holding myself together while quietly falling apart.

She said something I’ll never forget:

“God heals the brokenhearted. But you have to give Him the pieces. You haven't let yourself do that yet. You keep trying to do this on your own, in your own way.”

I felt exposed.
Seen.
Relieved and terrified at the same time because she saw right through me.

She quoted the Dalai Lama, “Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.”

I didn’t want to suffer anymore.
I didn’t want to keep pretending.
I didn’t want to wear a fake smile and cry myself to sleep again.

I wanted to feel whole again.
Be held again.
Feel safe again.
And realize I was worthy again.

Then came the part that changed everything.

She said, “You need something that walks with you daily. Not once a month. Not once a week. Every day. Healing happens from the inside out when you make your healing a priority.”

Those words are what led me, years later, to create what the woman I used to be so desperately needed back then.
The woman who was barely holding on by a thread.
The woman who thought she tried everything but still hurt.

A safe, structured, Christ-centered path to take one small step a day toward healing.

A path with tangible action steps and full accountability.

It’s called my 30-Days of Hope, Healing, and Path to Peace Coaching Series.

Not a year.
Not a long-term commitment.
Just 30 days.

Women tell me things like:

“I’ve been in therapy for years and felt better working with you after just 3 weeks.”

“Why wasn’t I taught these things sooner?”

“I can breathe again. I feel so much lighter.”

One woman said,
“If I had learned this when I was younger, I can only imagine how different my life would've been.”

AND THIS PART MATTERS:

If you don’t feel better in 30 days…you get every dollar back!
A 100% money back guarantee.

No pressure. No shame. No questions asked.
Healing shouldn’t feel like another risk.

If you’ve been in survival mode and searching for peace…
If you’re tired of your heart aching and feeling stuck…
If your voice is saying “I’m fine” in a three octave higher-pitched voice when you know you’re not…

Let this 30-Days of Hope, Healing, and Path to Peace Coaching Series be the turning point you’ve prayed for.

With God.
With support.
With accountability
With someone who understands the weight you’re carrying.

If something in this stirred you…
if your chest feels heavy or tight…
if you read this and thought, “This is me…”
then you are the woman I created this program for…
the woman I used to be.
