The Iowa Disc Golf Hall of Fame welcomed its 2 newest members tonight. Congratulations Jack Gilmore and Chris Claring! Thanks to everyone who showed up!!

We want to welcome for the newest members of the Iowa Disc Golf Hall of Fame! Congratulations to Chris Claring #9931 and Jack Gilmore #9537, two very deserving contributors to the growth of disc golf in our state.

Chris Claring has been a competitor since 1993 (625 career events with 110 wins) and event TD for many years in the Des Moines area. https://www.pdga.com/player/9931

Jack Gilmore also has competed since 1993 (151 career events with 52 wins) and holds the title of 2021 PDGA World Champion in the MP75 division. https://www.pdga.com/player/9587

The 2023 induction ceremony will be part of the player's party of the Des Moines Challenge on Saturday June 3, 2023 at the Big Grove Brewery 555 17th St. Des Moines, IA 50309. Commemorative discs will be available to be purchased to support the IA DG HOF.

Des Reading possesses the skills of an elite-level competitor and a world-class ambassador. Des has made an incredible impact on the sport of disc golf and has been a constant advocate for girls and women in sports.

Des has trained thousands of educators at physical education conferences and, most significantly, is the co-creator of the Educational Disc Golf Experience (EDGE), the first standards-based disc golf curriculum.

Des was 2001 PDGA Rookie of the Year, 4x Player of the Year, 2004 E.D.G.E./PDGA Educational Award winner, and 2014 Bob West Memorial Sportsmanship award. Des is a 3x PDGA Pro World Champion, 5x USWDGC Champion, 1x Masters World Champion, and 12x PDGA Major champion.

We lost an Iowa Disc Golf Hall of Famer this past week. RIP Brian Malone!
