Five weeks in Bali, and this is the only “yoga photo” I managed to take - it reminds me that not all yoga we practice can be captured on camera.
My time in Bali wasn’t so much about asana, putting our body into a shape, but about how the body shapes in reaction to inadequately processed events, experiences and emotions. Our body can hold onto these narratives and unfelt feelings deep within our tissues and nervous system, which may leave us with a mind-body connection that doesn’t feel aligned; it can show up as tension, fatigue, anxiety, irritability, depression, disassociation, pain and even illness.
I gained some very valuable new insights during my Yin and Restorative trainings (deep gratitude to & ) and I was able to add significantly to my teaching toolbox. As much as I treasured embodying this new knowledge, these trainings and my time in Bali turned out to primarily be an opportunity to have a humble and honest conversation with myself - with the added support of quite a few facilitators in a variety of healing arts disciplines - about what I was holding onto mentally and physically that needed to leave my system. This internal inquiry is far from done and I’m committed to tend to it daily.
Learning to let go of limiting thoughts in the mind and the shedding of stuck stories in the body may be where our greatest liberation lies.
The unwinding of our life’s story within the body can be a powerful portal to true freedom, peace and happiness, as long as we’re willing to listen and engage with compassion, kindness and love.
This time of year can be triggering for many and our bodies might react to things/ places/ people in a way that our conscious mind doesn’t fully understand. May we stay gentle with ourselves and the people around us, as many may be struggling with a challenging internal conversation that we (and possibly, they) have no idea is taking place.
Our body never lies and is never against us. Our body is, literally, our closest friend and ally, may we love and listen to it unequivocally and unconditionally.
Wishing you a holiday season of connection (to self), kindness (to self) and (self) care 🤍

BACK TO BALI - see you in five weeks, NYC.
Never not learning, I’ll be a forever student of yoga. I’m immensely looking forward to immerse myself into two 100-hour yoga trainings, Yin-Yang with Paul Teodo and Restorative Yoga & Nervous System Rewiring with Tina Nance at the magical in Ubud, Bali.
Our body holds a wisdom that we are very good at ignoring - I’m grateful I can take the next few weeks to dig deep and connect to my body and nervous system in a way I never have before, under the guidance of industry experts in one of the most soothing places on this planet.
Looking forward to bring back that Bali magic and peace when I return mid December.
You can still practice with me while I’m away! After a three year hiatus from uploading, all of my weekly yoga sequences from this last year are on my channel (link in bio). I made YouTube Partner last week, so I was finally able to remove all mid-roll ads, please enjoy - undisturbed.
Let me know how you get on 🩵

✨ Thank you for sharing with us
Been sitting on this news for a couple of weeks as I was waiting for my certificate to arrive - it’s here now, I’m officially a certified Yoga Therapist! (C-IAYT)
I quoted Henry David Thoreau when I announced on social media 2.5 years ago that I was starting my Yoga Therapy training program: “What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.”
I wrote that I was thrilled about all the new things I was going to learn and about becoming a Yoga Therapist but that I was also very much looking forward to how the training would transform me, as a yoga teacher and as an individual.
Thoreau was right - our learning journey is one that lasts a lifetime; the incredible faculty has given me so many tools that I now share with my students and clients to lead more mindful, embodied and connected lives.
However, my time with gave me so much more than a certification and a license to practice yoga therapy - it gave me insight into my body, my mind, my practice and my existence that I may not have found without PYI.
I will never be able to express my gratitude for that gift.
Stay curious about the journey, my friends. 🧡
