Operating as usual
In anxious times, we turn to our practice. Community is at the heart of our Kula, and we know more than ever that building a strong one requires thoughtful effort to prioritize quality time together.
Please join us, this weekend *and* next, for a much-needed Double the Love—a classic old-school tandem class with a twist: Lana and Śrī are teaming up to lead you in a much-needed round of yin and restorative yoga.
Lana and Śrī have put together a very special evening—a tandem class showcasing both of their finely honed yin and restorative yoga skills. Prepare to support yourself with props, direct your gaze inward, and invite your nervous system to slowly recalibrate.
These two are so passionate about down regulating that they are offering this class at both locations this month:
Join them in Williamsburg on Saturday, November 9 from 4 to 6pm and in SoHo on Saturday, November 16, also from 4—6pm.
Come ready to rest, regroup, and re-energize.
REGISTRATION IS OPEN for a series of Teachers’ Classes with the wonderful 🎉
Join us in SoHo on Wednesdays from 2—4pm
November 6, 13, 20, and December 4
Explore the basic vocabulary of the body, or its “acorn” shapes, as it unfolds from embryonic to standing to inversions and back again, and find a pathway to more complex poses. Spending time with root poses is rewarding fun and will inform your practice and your teaching.
Your ability to understand the work in a given pose will grow as you see the component parts, the different energies required to sustain shapes that are similar but in different relations to gravity, and more.
Each week, we’ll look at emerging foundational shapes and let them develop. If the resulting work exceeds your level of practice, you will nonetheless be able to share in an understanding of how the poses arise and also of how you might practice them in parts.
This series might grow in unexpected ways, and I am leaving the door open to requests and organic evolution.
But for now, our “Acorn” Poses:
Knees to chest, or Pavanmuktasana (Wind Relieving Pose)
Child’s Pose, or Balasana
Tadasana on the floor
Starshape on the floor 🌟
Drop in for $27 or make room for all four for $100. You’ll be so glad you did!
Looking ahead to the solstice! Don't miss this sound experience with One Nation Sound on December 21...
Thrilled to welcome these cuties to SoHo this Saturday October 26 from 6.30 to 7.30pm!
Sound Bathing is an ancient metaphysical practice that uses sound to connect with the cosmos and divinity to achieve healing and higher states of consciousness. The sounds of instruments tuned to specific healing frequencies wash away any unwanted energy, while seeding healing light, love, and new codes into your being becoming sonic reiki energy healing.
Join One Nation Sound for a Sonic Reiki Sound Bath to experience the graceful yet profound healing effects of sound.
One Nation Sound is a collective of Sound Alchemists. We are musicians, sound healing practitioners, artists, and DJs who use music to heal, inspire, and uplift the world. Based in Brooklyn, NY by way of Toronto, Canada & Kingston, Jamaica, collective members Rev Love & Geefa Judah bring a grounded yet etheric energy to their Sound Healing sessions. As lifelong musicians they know intimately the power of music. Through years of personal study and training they learned that when pairing sound frequencies with intention and direction, they can have profoundly healing effects. The outcome is a “sonic reiki” seeding light, love, healing and new codes into the being in a gentle and graceful manner. They have been blessed to share this healing music all over the US, in Canada, Jamaica, Trinidad and Ethiopia, and have founded a Sound Healing program for incarcerated individuals at Rikers Island in New York City.
Stay in orbit with One Nation Sound by checking out the “Meditations for the Masses” album available on all platforms, as well as One Nation Collective member’s music, and by attending a live music curation event. On Instagram: and .
Thrilled to have ONE NATION SOUND at both studios this fall!

KULA SOUND BATH
Saturday, October 5 from 6.30—7.30pm
Williamsburg
Join for a sonic and vibrational experience.
Andrea begins with a brief breathing exercise followed by an Om sonic meditation and continues with a Soundbath that is offered with Tibetan singing bowls, bells, voice and other instruments.
This is a very powerful and yet simple way to tone the vagus nerve, calibrate the resonance frequency of the systems of the body, and step closer to the full blooming of the soul. An open door, to allow and create inner space in order to tap into consciousness and receive joy, love, compassion and equanimity.
Some of the following become possible with breathwork, sonic meditations and soundbaths:
Heightened states of awareness or expanded consciousness, changes in physiology and psychology from known and unknown tensions to relaxations which gradually become permanent. These changes may represent a tuning of mind and body. Participants may achieve greater awareness and sensitivity to each other. Music is a welcome by-product of this activity.
Mind, body and soul will be attuned and the harmony of these three areas will be regulated.
All you have to do is dress comfortably, lie down, and relax into this experience.
