On this day in Irish American history: Glenn Howerton tried his first corned beef sandwich.

The historic moment happened in 2024 at Montclair’s own Tierney’s Tavern, opened in 1934 and run by the same family for over 90 years. Fifth-generation owner Grace Tierney, pictured here, served it up.
