At just 10 years old, Reese Valerie Barbosa is walking the exact path to chess excellence carved by her uncle, GM Oliver Barbosa 🇵🇭♟️

She just delivered a strong performance at the highly competitive FIDE-rated Kamatyas Rapid Chess series, placing 3rd in the 19th Kamatyas Kiddies tournament with an impressive 5.5/7 points — earning a well-deserved podium finish.

Her parents are bursting with pride, and her US-based GM uncle has taken notice as Reese follows the family’s passion for the game.
