On February 2nd last year, I was in Rio Vermelho, in Salvador, Bahia. I had always wanted to be in Salvador on this day that is dedicated to Yemanjá, to witness the ritual, the gathering, the celebration. The sea was full of flowers, offerings, and wishes.

In times like these, I keep returning to the importance of ritual. Of being together. Of collective experiences of faith, hope, and joy - not as mere mental concepts, but as lived experiences. 🌊

Overwhelm doesn’t mean you’re failing — or that you’re broken. It’s your system calling for care. And when it all feels like too much, the answer isn’t to push harder. It’s an invitation to pause, soften, and return to your body. 🌿

✨ Try this now:
Gently place a hand on your heart or your belly.
Take 3 slow breaths.
Feel the rise and fall beneath your hand.
No need to fix anything — simply notice.

These small, simple moments are what restore balance. They regulate your nervous system, create space inside, and gently bring you back to yourself.

💛 Want to go deeper? On October 4th, I’m hosting a free 90-minute workshop Reclaim Your Calm & Creativity. You’ll learn embodied tools to shift from overwhelm into grounded presence — so you can meet life with more clarity and ease.

Respire 3 vezes bem devagar.

Thank you so much for all the birthday love, meus amores! 💛

I received so many sweet messages, so many caring gestures, and feel truly blessed to have such beautiful people in my life.

A few months ago I went through a medical scare that really rattled me. And on the morning of my birthday, as I looked out at the breathtaking view in front of me, I was reminded of just how precious life is. How beautiful it is. What a gift it is to simply be alive, to be here now, and to take in all the beauty around me.

I’m so grateful to be surrounded by such wonderful souls, to have this incredibly loving circle of friends, and to be reminded again and again of the beauty in this world.

Thank you for the messages, the care, the love. I’m sending it all back out into the world today — may it land exactly where it’s needed most.
Much love to you all! xoxo ✨

Come back to your body. Come back to you. 🌿

These past months brought moments when I felt overwhelmed. My mind kept racing, searching for answers — but then I remembered: clarity doesn’t come from more thinking. It comes when I drop back into my body.

Our body is an anchor.
Our body is a compass.

When I slow down to notice my breath… the ground beneath my feet… the gentle rise of my belly… something shifts. Something softens. And I reconnect: I’m here. I’m safe.

Our bodies hold wisdom — listen to the signals, the whispers. They remind us of our resilience and strength, guiding us back to calm and clarity. And like any good friendship, this one deepens when we listen.

✨ Try this right now:
Place one hand on your belly and the other on your chest. Take 3 slow breaths.
Feel the movement beneath your hands.
Nothing to fix, nothing to change. Just presence.

Every time you return to your body, you return to yourself. ✨

And if this speaks to you, I’d love to invite you to my free workshop on October 4th: Reclaim Your Calm & Creativity. More info in the link in bio! xoxo 🌿💛

EN: Your personal values are the foundation of who you are, guiding you towards a life that feels authentic and true. When you take the time to identify what truly matters to you, it becomes easier to make decisions, and you live your life more intentionally.

Living in alignment with your values means you’re less likely to be swayed by external pressures or the expectations of others.

This process isn’t just about making better choices—it’s also about creating a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling to YOU.

Taking the time to identify what your values are helps you prioritize what brings you joy, fulfillment, and purpose. And when you honor these values, you connect more deeply with yourself and others, leading to a more satisfying and authentic life.

So my invitation for you today, amores, is to identify what your values are. In the slides above, you will find some ways to explore your values. One way is to connect with moments in your life that you felt really connected to yourself and explore what values were being honored in this moment.

Another way is to take a look at a values list. I included some common values on one of the slides above and see which ones resonate the most for you. Brene Brown has an amazing one that is much more complete. Identify which words are most meaningful and important in your life? Try to narrow your list of values down to 5 and place your short list somewhere you can see it in your home or on your phone.

Then periodically, check in with your decisions or habits to see if they are aligned with your values and if they support what is most important to you.

Taking the time to connect with our values offers us an opportunity to reconnect with ourselves and the life we want to be leading.

Let your values be your compass and let them lead you to a life that aligns with who you are and the person you want to be. ✨

Back in Brasil now, I've been reflecting on my time in Portugal and wanted to share some special moments with all of you. One such unforgettable experience was the Portugal Ta**ra Festival. What an amazing gathering it was, and what an honor it was to be part of such an incredible team of teachers, including the one and only Margot Anand. 🇵🇹✨

It was a gift to co-facilitate with my love, .onelove , and create a safe, playful container for couples to connect more deeply with themselves and their partners. Sharing these moments of creation and dancing with you in the moment, Akshi, was a truly beautiful experience! ❤️

and - it was simply a joy to create and facilitate alongside both of you. I loved weaving together the powerful "Women's Gathering" with you two beautiful souls. Thank you, amadas, for this harmonious and fluid moment of co-facilitating. 🌸

And of course, a huge thanks to , .tantra , and for organizing such a beautiful gathering. All your work, both visible and invisible, made this transformative portal of connection, growth, and newness possible. 💫

Thank you .snaps.shots and for your amazing work in capturing these moments with such sensitivity and talent! 📸💕

And thank you to the whole constellation that came together to create this incredible and sacred 5-day journey - all the participants, teachers, angels, and organizers! Gratidão, amores!!! 🥰🌈

For those who want to embark on this adventure next year, mark your calendars for the next edition from May 28th - June 1st, 2025!

Sending so much love, meus amores! 😘💜

P.S. As many of you have noticed, I'm not the best at real-time sharing here on Instagram... a month has passed since the festival, but the energy is still reverberating here within me. I share what feels important and relevant- but in my own turtle time!!! hehe! Big hugs! xoxo 🤗

🌿 Reconnect with your body and your essence!

As a somatic practitioner, I'm here to help my clients reconnect with themselves in a safe, deep, and transformative way. I work with various somatic approaches, but today I'd like to focus on Somatic Experiencing (SE).

Somatic Experiencing (SE) offers people a direct and simple path to reconnect with their bodies and helps release stress, tension, and trauma from the body. This approach helps individuals develop an understanding of their emotions and cultivate a deep connection with their bodily sensations.

SE is a gentle yet powerful method for resetting the natural rhythm of the nervous system, promoting more resilience and vitality in the body. Somatic Experiencing helps people cultivate presence and authenticity to create a life with more connection, health, and balance.

I'm offering 1:1 online somatic therapy sessions, personalized to meet your needs and help you reconnect with yourself.

Did any of you read those "Choose Your Own Adventure" books back in the '90s? I used to love them as a kid! The premise was simple: while reading, you could make choices that altered the storyline, giving the reader some agency in the unfolding of the narrative as we chose which adventures we wanted to embark on.

Life is a lot like that. Every decision leads us down a unique path, filled with new adventures. Sometimes, the journey may seem uncertain and challenging, but I always try to remind myself to trust that each choice is taking me exactly where I am meant to be.

Embrace the journey, trust the path and the process, and remember, even when we can’t quite see it, everything is unfolding for our highest good. Everything is happening FOR us, not TO us!

We are the heroes and heroines of our own story, amores. Keep going, keep believing, and keep moving forward. The best is yet to come. Choose your adventure and trust the path!!!

Here are some photos from my latest adventures in Portugal and Italy.

Sending lots of love to you all!

PT 🇧🇷: Confie no Caminho!

" The things that hurt you, that caused you pain do not define you. Nothing that broke you, caused you the most intense damage, deserves the right to define who you are. They are things that happened to you, that evolved you as a person that changed you, but they still do not get the right define your beautiful, brilliant soul which contains a tiny universe as vast as the one you see as endless in the night sky.

What does define you is your survival, your ability to have experienced terrible things and still, found it inside yourself to survive, to have the kind of courage so many would not dream of, to grow wings where yours had been taken and cut down. You are made of beautiful, incredible, impossible things and your trauma does not get to trick you into believing that it is the only thing about you that matters.

The person who you were before damage came for you, that person is long gone and they will not be coming back, but remnants of them remain. Together the damage and the past before it have made you a brand new human, a stronger human, a better human.

You have forged yourself. From the very womb of your sadness, from the womb of your old self, you have come out, borne of heartache and pain. So no. After all that fighting you have done, your trauma does not get to define you, my dear heart.

You are whole despite it. A better, braver, stronger you in every single way.

And believe me, the universe is proud of you, you are fulfilling your purpose here in every single way."

- Nikita Gill, Your Trauma Doesn’t Define You

Photos from Sadhana Sokol's post 11/30/2023

"The effects of unresolved trauma can be devastating. It can affect our habits and outlook on life, leading to addictions and poor decision-making. It can take a toll on our family life and interpersonal relationships. It can trigger real physical pain, symptoms, and disease. And it can lead to a range of self-destructive behaviors."
-Peter Levine

If any of the symptoms in the above images sound familiar to you, you might have unprocessed trauma. Physical symptoms like chronic tiredness, insomnia, and muscle tension often arise due to the body's prolonged stress response. Our body is often the first part of us that notices that something is triggering us. Think of the body as a storyteller, sharing tales through these symptoms.

Emotional symptoms, such as intrusive thoughts, intense fear, and social withdrawal, impact our relationships and overall well-being. Behavioral symptoms, like turning to substances for coping or withdrawing socially, may develop as attempts to navigate lingering pain. It's important to remember that seeking medical help is crucial for accurate diagnosis, as these symptoms can overlap with other medical issues.

Somatic approaches to working with trauma, like Somatic Experiencing or EDMR, shine a light on the innate wisdom of our bodies to heal. If you suspect underlying trauma, be kind to yourself and consider reaching out to a therapist who can provide support. If you would be interested in working with me, send me a DM today. I would love to connect with you! ❤

Our bodies are extremely wise and innately capable of healing - sometimes we just need some company and support on our healing journey. ✨

For the longest time, I didn't quite grasp what trauma really is. What helped my understanding was realizing that it's not about what happens to you; rather, it's about how you personally experience those events.

Trauma can be defined as an experience that is too overwhelming for our nervous systems to cope with. This could be anything that is too fast, too much, or even too little (when we talk about neglect and not enough love, safety, or support).

When we are overwhelmed, our nervous system can get stuck in survival states of fight, flight, or freeze, even after the initial threat has passed. And this overwhelm creates disconnection - from our authentic selves, our bodies, and the present moment.

Trauma can stem from a diverse range of stressors, including accidents, emotional abuse, invasive surgeries, sexual or physical assault, neglect, loss, or ongoing conflict. Sometimes, we distinguish between two forms of trauma. We talk about trauma with a capital "T" and trauma with a lowercase "t." Trauma with a capital "T" is one that most people would consider traumatic, such as a plane crash or sexual abuse. Trauma with a lowercase "t" is something that everyone can experience at some point in life and is perceived as traumatic on a more personal level, which could include a relationship breakup, unexpectedly losing a job, or facing a threat. Again, the events themselves are not the trauma per se; rather, trauma is the internal injury that arises as a result of what happened.

Some people doubt if they have unresolved trauma, thinking it must be something catastrophic or in other words capital "T" trauma. But remember, trauma is what felt traumatic to you. It could be childhood bullying, feeling unseen or uncared for by a parent, or constant criticism from a partner.

No matter how small or insignificant it may seem to someone else, every trauma is valid, and everyone deserves healing.

Trauma imposes constraints and disconnects us, while, in the words of Mate, healing is the journey to reconnect with our true, authentic selves. Feel like you could use a more personalized conversation about your journey with trauma? Drop a comment ⬇ or send a DM! 💜
