For anyone Girl Scout who was registered to attend the Dec encampment and did not make it, please remember our troop has a reimbursement policy so we are never wasteful with our girl's hard-earned cookie money. Our girls have big goals this season, we are going to need every penny. Thank you!

Hello everyone!
This post is for all the DAISIES attending encampment. A major change has been made for the equestrian rotation. Daisies will NOT be riding horses but instead get a barn tour with mini horses and a cart ride. Please see snapshot below. If you would like to opt out of horseback riding please let me know so I can request a refund.
Any girls that opt out of participating in the equestrian event will still need to sit there while the other girls participate. I need to know by 12pm today if you would like a refund.
Brownie parents/girls this change doesn’t pertain to you.

Happy Thanksgiving Girl Scouts!! Thank you for joining us on this new journey as we navigate the Girl Scout and troop leader life. We are so thankful to all you for being amazing parents, for pitching in when we need, for signing up to bring snacks and drinks and most importantly for your patience. We’ve had a few small hiccups here and there but you have all been amazing. I hope you all have a WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING 🦃

Children Gasparilla Parade 2020 - January 18, 2020
Who can attend?
All registered Girl Scouts and their parents and siblings...anyone under 6 (who is not a girl scout) MUST be in a stroller or wagon to walk in the parade. We suggest wagons for walkers especially for younger troops in order to carry beads and the possibility of tired girls! We do purchase event insurance for tag-a-longs and unregistered adults. We are getting an unusual amount of interest in the parade this year, so keep in mind we may have to limit the number of additional people who walk in the parade. We will know this later.
When is the parade?
January 18, 2020
What time?
3:30 pm-6:00 pm...plan on being as late at 7 pm...depending on our spot in the lineup.
Where is the Parade?
The parade begins promptly at 3:30 pm at the corner of Bay to Bay Blvd and Bayshore Blvd. All floats and people line up along Bayshore Blvd. starting as early as 1:30 pm. Our spot in the lineup will determine how early troops will need to arrive before the parade starts. Typically its around 2:30 pm. The parade route is 1.4 miles long on Bayshore...our spot in the parade lineup also adds some extra walking distance.
What is the cost and what does that include?
Included in the cost is registration, patch and beads per paid person. Number of beads is dependent on number of registered girls.
Patch has a new design every year with the current year on it and uses the same words "GSWCF Celebrates Children Gasparilla Parade" that way it includes all girls who attend no matter which Service Unit they are from!
Walkers pay $20 per person
Float riders pay $70 per person (the maximum number of float riders is 30)
Hello,
I've started a poll on our other page, Girl Scout Troop # 50136. Please be sure to like that page and to vote for the date that works best for you and location for our 1st Troop Holiday party and award ceremony.
Hello Girl Scout Troop #136 Families,
Yesterday was another great meeting. Thank you to all the parents for all your help. The Daisies that attended earned their RED Petal and most of our Brownies earned their GS Way badge. I’m so proud of our girls!!
This is a LONG e-mail. Please read it in it’s entirety. I’ve tried to answer any questions that I could think of that you may have regarding Encampment.
Encampment registration deadline is TODAY, 11/5. Our troop must register tomorrow and remit payment in full in order to secure our troop spot. If you would like to attend, Contact Julie Cortes to make payment arrangements.
Encampment is Dec 6-8 at Camp Wildwood. It is for Daisies and Brownies.
Encampment cost - $25 per person attending (girls and adults) plus $15 for each girl riding horses. Only girls may ride horses. Daisies must be led by an adult holding a guide rope. Brownies may ride independently. There is also an optional $5 per person spaghetti dinner ( Spaghetti Dinner, salad and garlic bread ) on Friday evening. All food for Saturday (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks) is included in the cost. The Saturday afternoon snack will be snow cones and the evening activity will be a snow party, campfire, songs, and s’mores. Troop is responsible for Sunday breakfast (we’ll discuss breakfast meals/ideas/options as we get closer. If any girls or adults attending have any food allergies, PLEASE let us know.
***All adults entering the campground must be approved Girl Scout volunteers for 2019-2020 year.***
Camp Address: 9583 CR 223, Wildwood, FL 34785. - One hour and 5 minutes from our meeting location.

*****The entire troop must ARRIVE TOGETHER , individual girls/families will NOT be allowed to enter until our entire group is together)*****
????Would it be easier if we all meet at the clubhouse at 5 and drive together? Maybe we can even carpool. Open to suggestions/ideas.???
Departure/Pickup time: 11am on Sunday the 8th.
Rotations (each troop will ONLY attend 4 rotations):
Equestrian Program - $15 additional - Must wear pants (yoga style recommended)
Snowflake Ornaments - craft with popsicle sticks
Snowman Tye Dye Shirts - bring your own t-shirt
Snow Ball Defense Class - Self Defense Basics
Trail Adventurer Badge (2 rotations) Daisies and Brownies will be in separate rotations due to different badge requirements. This is a REQUIRED rotation.
Our girls will definitely attend the Trail Adventurer badge so they will each attend 2 other rotations. That was was already decided by our service unit since we are a new troop and our girls have not earned this badge yet. Good news is the next time we go to Encampment our girls will have already completed this badge and a rotation we can skip. The badges will be paid for by the troop, thank you to everyone that’s has paid your registration and dues on time.
In the Daisy Trail Adventurer Badge girls will:
Choose an adventure: Jog while you explore outdoors or go on a hike and play games.
1. Choose your outdoor adventure
2. Prepare for your adventure
3. Go on your outdoor adventure
In the Brownie Trail Adventurer Badge girls will:
Choose an adventure: Go trail running or take different kinds of hikes. 1. Choose your outdoor adventure
2. Plan and prepare
3. Gather your gear
4. Train for your adventure
5. Go on your outdoor adventure
The girl scout camp store will be open on Saturday, 9am to 3pm.
Lastly, please work with your girls on the Girl Scout camp songs. It’s important to me that when we show up to camp, we SHOW UP 🙂 We will try our best to fit in a song or two at every meeting to give the girls time to practice and become familiar with the songs. The list of songs that will be sung at Encampment are attached. - Not sure how to attach on FB but will try to post it here.
I know this a long e-mail but I would rather give you all the information I have so that we are all on the same page.
Thank you for taking the time to read this e-mail.
