He looks so young omg
It’s genuinely hard to believe that Tom Holland was already an adult while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming because he looked so naturally young in the role. Tom was 20 when filming began in 2016, yet he could easily pass for Peter Parker’s actual high school age, which ended up being one of the biggest advantages of his casting. Between his youthful face, smaller frame at the time, messy hair and the awkward energy he brought to Peter, there are so many behind the scenes pictures where he looks like an actual teenager who somehow wandered onto a massive Marvel set. It also helped make his version of Peter feel noticeably different from previous live action versions because audiences really got the sense that this was a kid suddenly thrown into a world of superheroes and responsibilities far beyond anything someone his age should normally be dealing with. Looking back at these photos now is especially wild because Tom has visibly matured so much since Homecoming, making the contrast even stronger. He may have technically been a grown man when he put on the Spider-Man suit for the movie, but visually, Marvel couldn’t have asked for someone more convincing as their teenage Peter Parker.
