A Planet Without Wars!!

All World Sports Federations should join together and ban any and all Nations that are at War with another Nation from competing in any and all International Sports.

Further, they should use Sports as a means of preventing and Ending all Wars.

Nations at War should agree to meet each other in a chosen or agreed sport to settle their differences.

Nations that refuse to enter the Sports non-agression pact, would be banned from the FIFA World Cup Finals, the Olympics, Grand Slam Tennis, Chess Olympiad, World Netball, ICC cricket, and all other World sporting event.

Imagine, sports as a means for a Planet without War!!

The prizes for premier league football in Jamaica should be increased 100%, and players salary need likkle supmtin to.
Is there a football players union in Jamaica?
Refs have a union that see their salary increased pursuant to a contract.
If refs are dissatisfied they can strike, so how come players are not afforded that right?
Wake up Jamaican footballers, past and present, unionize, nu ball caan play with out unu.
FIFA endorses players union.

A West Indies Chess Federation??
This is and old rejected idea from the 1940s when such an organization was formed, and held the bi-annual Colonial Chess Championship that Jamaica was always invited to but never attended.
It would have been more logical to suggest a CARICOM Chess Association, and even then one must recall that the Government of Jamaica has not fully embrace the idea of CARICOM.
A timely idea would be to revive and host the Caribbean Chess Championship that Jamaican International CM Neil Fairclough won back-to-back, and in so doing, placed Jamaica at the top of the English Caribbean Chess food chain.
Also, it may be prudent to revive and host the Marcus Garvey Open International Chess Championship, which was very popular and well attended by players beyond the Caribbean, and that was also won by Fairclough.

Deputy Mayor Winston Ennis (r) presented the book The History of Chess in Jamaica Volume I (1834-1978) to Delroy Chuck, the Jamaica Minister of Justice.
Delroy Chuck was a prolific player at Jamaica Chess Federation (JCF)
tournaments while a student at the University of the West Indies in Kingston in the early 1970's.

A Book Review
"I just recently got a copy of your wonderful book! What a joy it's been to read that. So many good memories, so many people to whom I'm grateful -- but you've also taught me a lot about what was going on in Jamaican chess before my time in Jamaica and after … It was interesting to read about the rise of Dr. Chan as a player -- such a very good chess player he was. (I only managed to beat him the one time, in the Gleaner tournament in 1971.) It was sad to be reminded of my friend Thomas Figueroa's untimely death. (I remember playing chess with him at his dining room table -- over in the UWI faculty housing, if I remember correctly.) And it's lovely to see how John Powell went from strength to strength.
I could go on. Now I'll just say THANK YOU for this wonderful gift you've given everyone who loves chess in Jamaica."
