It was such an honor to lead the third annual Valentine’s Day partner yoga class at yesterday! The theme was presence and loving attention to self and partner and it was such a beautiful thing to witness and feel all the LOVE in the room. Thanks for trusting me to guide you and for showing up and having fun doing it! 💕💕💕

A year ago I was feeling uninspired and a little lost and saw a video online of the NYC thriller flash mob. It made me so happy. I wanted to dance with a bunch of beautiful people and do something fun in my community. I vowed to myself that next Halloween I would make it happen. Thank you to all of the amazing people who joined the Cville thriller flash mob this year! And for making this vision come true! You totally killed it and I can’t wait to do it again next year. Want to sign up for next year? Check the link in my bio or message me.

KILLER EXERCISE ALERT!

This is an advanced variation of Mermaid using the short box on the . I sometimes lovingly referred to this exercise as “the muffin top burner.” Whew!

This version of Mermaid is a fantastic lateral flexion exercise that provides both mobility and stability benefits. Here are the main benefits of this variation:

🌀 1. Improves Lateral Flexibility of the Spine
• Mermaid primarily targets side bending, which helps lengthen the obliques, quadratus lumborum, and intercostal muscles.
• This enhances range of motion in the thoracolumbar spine and rib cage, promoting overall spinal mobility.

🔗 2. Strengthens Core Muscles
• The abdominals, especially the obliques, work eccentrically and concentrically to control and initiate the side bend and return.
• Requires strong core engagement to maintain balance on the short box.

🧘 3. Enhances Breathing Mechanics
• The side stretch opens up the rib cage, which encourages lateral thoracic breathing.
• Helps improve lung expansion and deepen the breath—a key principle in Pilates.

⚖️ 4. Challenges Balance and Alignment
• Being seated on the short box (rather than the stable floor) demands greater proprioception and pelvic stability.
• Encourages awareness of sit bone grounding and spinal alignment throughout the movement.

2024 in photos memories.
Trip to St John, mom/daughter trip to Naples, the launch of the houseboat at .slips, eating crab with Vaughn, hiking in Vail, the floating stage at the Labor Day Party, sunsets over the Maury river, sailing in Kinsale, having my parents together again on Thanksgiving after 28 years, fostering the sweetest pup for 10 days, seeing my Dad be smitten with his first grandchild, watching Zack pout over me making him wear a Xmas wool sweater.

What a rich, beautiful life it is. Wishing you all a happy new year! May 2025 bring you all sweet sweet memories.

Sunrise over the waves.
Sunset over the bay.
Giggles, belly laughs and blue crab with fries.
Sandy feet, late night puzzling, and the feeling of being completely me.

Three days with the two most amazing women in my life- my mom and my sister. 💜💜💜

My favorite memory of 💜. I had the pleasure of leading him through a few rope wall stretch sessions some years ago. I could tell he just needed to open and soften his tight body. I saw the soft, sweet, curious side of him, a beautiful pair to his toughness.

He hired me to teach a class at called Yoga for Weightlifters and Other Badasses, which I looked forward to every week.

The thing I remember most about Justin was his commitment to building community and his giving spirit. I know he mentored and coached so many through the years.

Fly Justin, fly. We love you. And will miss you 💜 so.
