Tennis is a mix of high intense points and slow times between them. The heart rate goes up and down constantly and the players need to repeat that sequence for long periods of time. Interval training allows our body to adapt to high intense drills and rest periods. Here is an endurance circuit of exercises that I do with my players. Work hard!

Throughout time, tennis became a very aggressive and fast sport. Agility, fast foot work and coordination are skills that every tennis player needs to step up their game. Here is a circuit of exercises that I do with my players. Work hard!

Tennis Australia Coach Development

This video shows exactly what I've been telling all the parents and colleagues about the importance of teaching tennis with the proper material. Check out this video about the tempo of rallies between the pros and little kids!

How cool is this...overlay of red ball/pro footage showing a very similar rally tempo, you won't get that by placing 7 year old players on a full court! Thank you Simon Wheatley for a great presentation.

Play+Stay - About Tennis10s

Tennis is a very technical sport that requires an enormous body control. At a young age, kids are discovering their body and they have lack of body control. Tennis for young kids needs to be appropriate for their size, strength, balance and ability. By using slower and softer balls, kids can have a contact point between their knee and their shoulder, like an adult would. With a racquet that is the appropriate size, they can swing through the ball in the direction they want. With smaller courts they can cover the court like an adult covers the normal-sized tennis court.

For more details about 10&Under tennis visit the Play+Stay website.

tennisplayandstay.com Tennis10s is tennis for players aged 10-and-under, played on smaller courts with slower Red, Orange and Green balls. It is a fun way to start tennis and makes it easy for children to play the game, develop good technique and tactics and a love for the sport.

How Can We Increase Kids’ Attention Spans? Less Time Spent Sitting Still ...

The attention span of kids is reduced and they tend to get bored easily. In tennis training where repetition is required, coaches need to find ways to make it fun because kids will lose focus very fast and, consequently, they will lose interest in the sport. Same happens in school, kids are asked to stay in a chair for too long and the time to exercise and spend energy is extremely short. It's proven that body activity helps the brain activity.

www.weareteachers.com Here’s a big list of accommodations that give all your students an opportunity to learn together and find success in your classroom.

Playing tennis requires power and explosion, but before a player can develop those two things, the player needs to build muscle strength and balance. Here are a few exercises that help strengthen the legs with only body weight.
Work hard!

Who else better to say these words? Roger Federer put the effort and sacrifice and got to where he deserved. Hard work is key for development, and development is key to become better. The road to get where we want is frustrating, with no end, because there is always an opportunity to get better.
