According to TMZ and the Journal de Montréal, Lemieux’s family had noticed significant changes in his behavior over the previous year. His wife confronted him the night before his death about suspected substance use, and Lemieux reportedly acknowledged that he had relapsed after 12 years of sobriety.

Lemieux died by su***de in May at age 60. His family has asked that his death be discussed with care, compassion and respect.
