When a frozen Thanksgiving turkey drops from your freezer, it can hit your feet with the force of more than 1,000 pounds (4667 newtons)-- crushing your tootsies but good.
We credit this finding not to a David Letterman skit, but to an experiment by tech company PASCO.com. We’ll never know why they were dropping turkeys, but the takeaways are obvious: wear sturdy footwear during Thanksgiving prep, and be thankful for the field of Podiatry.
