This morning, I woke up to find a post on Facebook that a friend of mine, Robert Tran, passed away. Come lunch time, I see a post that Luke Perry has also passed. It really puts things into perspective. Life is too short to constantly argue, doubt ourselves, or give ourselves anything but self love and compassion. Tomorrow is not guaranteed so we must appreciate each day for what it is - a blessing.
No question today. Just join me in a moment of silent reflection, prayer, and appreciation for the lives we live.

A good friend of mine recently had a panic attack. He might disagree, but while chatting about it, I recognized the root cause to stem from a lack of self love. I want to differentiate KNOWING that you are worthy of love and FEELING that you are worthy of love. I have struggled with this in the past which is how I recognized it. I KNOW my worth, but sometimes don’t FEEL worthy due to internal/external factors. We try to think logically, but our feelings play an equal role in our decision making process. Until these two can work together harmoniously, your spirit will always be in constant turmoil.
What do you think about this differentiation between thinking and feeling? Let me know 👇🏼.

Self love isn’t something you do once and you’re done, it’s a continual effort. Sometimes I forget this and find myself needing to spend a whole hour re-centering my mind from the week. I put on relaxing meditation music and speak to myself. I spend time connecting with my inner thoughts and feelings. That’s what I did this weekend and it was glorious!
What are ways you connect with yourself? Let me know 👇🏼.

See the sweater I have on in this image? It was given to me by two good friends, and , 8 years ago on my 22nd birthday! To me, the quality of friends are more important than the quantity - something many overlook in the day and age of social media. But forget about the numbers, cherish those who bring quality to your life. Today is ’s birthday. I would love it if you went to her page and wished her a happy birthday!
What do you think about the age old debate of quality vs quantity? Let me know 👇🏼.

I use to think I was single bc the people in my city sucked. “They don’t like asian guys, I need to move to another city where I’m appreciated.” Sometimes it’s easier to pack your things and go, but understand that running away doesn’t always solve your problems. Sometimes the path most difficult is the most rewarding.
Has there been a situation where you wanted to run away? Let me know 👇🏼.
Side note, if I were to run away, I would definitely be doing it in style with this weekender bag from Bespoke Post. 😉

Last weekend I asked “What don’t you like about yourself and why?” 75% responded with something physical, while the remaining 25% mental. Look at yourself in the mirror. Note the imperfections. I know it’s tough, but once we’re able to acknowledge and accept our flaws will we be able to move forth and be truly happy and confident in our own skin.
Have you ever tried to accept yourself as you are? Let me know 👇🏼.

Happy Valentine’s Day Mi Amor 🌹! I know this holiday gets a lot of hate, but at its core, it’s all about love. This year, I choose to spend it alone. Just me, myself, and I. Learning to love myself a little more each day, because when you love yourself, you’re never truly alone. So to all the singles and couples out there, let’s spread love today. ❤️
How are you celebrating this day of love? Let me know 👇🏼.

February celebrates both Black History and Valentines Day. Thanks to the contribution of African Americans, our nation was able to achieve racial equality. Although legally seen as equals, socially there is still a divide. But not only towards blacks in 2019, but latinos, middle easterners, and other minority groups. In the celebration of love, lets look past one another’s skin color and gaze upon the beauty within. We are more similar than we think.
Have you dated someone from another race or ethnicity? Let me know 👇🏼.

Chúc Mừng Năm Mới! That’s Happy New Year in Vietnamese. It’s Lunar New Year in Asia and soon to be in the states. Superstition has it, that events on the first day of the year can either bring you great fortune or misfortune for the rest of the year. So in the promotion of self love, let’s be nicer to ourselves today (and tomorrow if you’re in the US). Be who you are, and own it! Here’s hoping for a year full of self love, luck, joy, and great fortunes!

Growing up, I was afraid to speak my mind. As an immigrant, I didn’t want to be wrong or stand out any more than I already did. As I got older, this quality manifested itself into a silent being void of thought. Now a days, it seems those who speak loudest gets heard, whether right or wrong. I can’t be silent anymore; there’s too much misdirection! I find my voice and use it to help those who can’t speak. Help build them up until they can stand on their own.
Do you think the loudest voice is always the right voice to follow? Let me know 👇🏼.
