What are your aspirations for 2023?

I’m excited for 2023!

One of the ways so many start the new year fresh is with food.

Back in the days of struggling to lose weight, I always started fresh with food too, and had high aspirations to get the weight off, once and for all.

But i wasn’t prioritizing myself and connecting to what my body really needs.

I wasn’t in touch with intuitively eating and how food is more than what it does for us nutritionally.

It’s fuel for the body and soul. When it’s real food, it raises our vibration.

When it’s processed, it lowers our vibration, our mood, affects our gut and health in so many ways.

So on this New Year’s Day, I ask you how can you live a healthier life shifting the focus away from the scale and how many pounds you have to lose.

How can you be healthier for you and your family?

Because when your not, you’re not gonna make great decisions for yourself and grab your sneakers to take a walk, cook the veggies, etc.

The cookies or whatever is your go to will win !

In a world of body positivity, I see so much negativity.😓

What is going on here? How could that be with sooo much emphasis on body positivity?

Whatever has gotten you to this point was probably repetitively speaking that voice to the point, that it’s your normal.

Has criticizing yourself worked? It hasn’t for me so I decided to approve of myself.

✨What if you DECIDED to do the same? ✨

To change that un-serving, self-abandoning voice?

Your new normal could look like replacing that voice with:

“You were born to SPARKLE✨”

“ I am so grateful for strong legs that I can walk with daily.”

“ I am enough”

“There’s nothing wrong with my body so therefore there’s nothing to fix.”

I could go on and on.

But I want to take a stand for YOU.

Because that was once me. I’m still working on it but it has dramatically changed so I know you can too.

It took a persistent focus and a decision as I was so devoted to my growth; the silver linings to come from the struggle with what I perceived as my imperfect body.

❤️It’s not good for your overall well-being to be so ready to knock yourself down. ❤️

Stop that!

You can shift that image and the science proves it.

But you have to take action.

And I know most of the time, we don’t know where to start.

I used to fall really hard when I slipped up on my “diet”🙏

😮No self compassion

😧Pure self-abandonment (was unaware of that in the moment)

😞The spiral of punishment was beyond, but I didn’t think anything of it. It became normal when I wasn’t “perfect.”

Geez what was that? How does someone even get to that place?🙏

🙏Why is it so acceptable to self-loathe and self-abandon?🙏

The cycle was my daily norm. Beating myself up, self-abandonment, dimming my light.

Not to mention the judgement.

Looking back, it’s so incredibly unacceptable and something the process has helped me grow from.

How could I have not known that then?

✨Because I’m human✨

✨Because I’m learning as I go along✨

✨Because it’s not a straight line of perfection✨

✨Because it’s a process of figuring out what serves me at the highest level✨

I’m grateful for the process to now know how to accept myself. To believe in myself.

Growth is a beautiful process when you stay open to it.

If anything here hit you and resonated, take one of the points above that can help you understand yourself and most of all, forgive yourself.

It was when I began to understand myself, that I was slowly able to evolve into a higher version of myself.

This went on for half my life. It’s over now. I have kept my weight off for around 10 years now. 🙏

And that’s what I want for YOU!!

“CONTENT SENSITIVE “

Are you body checking multiple times a day?

A lot of women have confessed to me who have struggled with weight, struggle with this.

What does body checking look like?

~Check your body for changes every time you’re by a mirror

~Pinching loose skin

~Jumping on the scale several days a day

If you do this, it really doesn’t help your mood.

It’s almost like your zooming in on the areas you are dissatisfied with on your body, intensifying that your body is imperfect, and then making you feel negative about yourself.

It’s possible that what you are seeing is inaccurate.

If this is happening and you are negatively affected, there are ways to help yourself feel at ease with your body, wherever you are at on the journey.

~Look in the mirror 🪞 and keep looking into your eyes, looking for your soul’s essence. Remember, they say your eyes are the window to your soul.

~Notice if there’s anything that leads you to do this so you understand what you’re doing, and why.

~Dress in what really makes you feel YOU and connect to that feeling about yourself. Then when you go back to feelings of either anxiety or distaste for your body, step back into that feeling.

~Social media is notorious for making this worse as we compare ourselves to others. Consider a tech detox.

It’s normal to look in the mirror and love ourselves up! It’s only when it becomes this ritual that perhaps it can affect your confidence.

Remember, you are truly beautiful, just the way you are.

YOU WERE BORN TO SPARKLE ✨ ✨

Sparkle is one of my favorite words!

I use it to set my intention for the day by asking myself,

“How will you Sparkle today?”

I connect my energy to that word and it shifts my focus to how I want to FEEL.

✨It elevates my vibration when I control my thoughts. ✨

We must be intentional and deliberate in how we navigate through our days.

Whenever I lost my way and fell down while trying to navigate the whole diet thing, my biggest critic was right there: ME😞

When I needed love the most.

Yeah, you know, the times you’re flowing on your diet when suddenly, you’re not!

Then you keep sliding down that slippery slope of indulging and gaining weight, until you pull yourself up and start all over again. 🙏

We obsess about these missteps making getting back on track almost impossible and miss the main point.

❤️The road is winding, not a straight line. ❤️

❤️Any and all efforts counts and THAT is what I should’ve obsessed over!❤️

Falling down DOESN’T take you back all the way. There are teachings and growth to see had I not been blinded by the “failure” of that moment.

It doesn’t mean your back to square one!

It’s a moment in time and it’s more about getting back on the horse that matters most.

For everyone that feels,

“I just don’t know where to start, I hear you.

❤️i see you.💓

Today you might be sitting there taking a much needed deep breath after giving so much of yourself to others.

✨It is time for you!✨

☮️We get so lost in the giving, we forget to really feel balanced and in the flow of abundance, we need to receive. ☮️

Here’s some ideas:

❤️Take a social media break

❤️Eat real food

❤️Listen to an uplifting, empowering podcast

❤️Tell the negative thoughts to take a hike!

❤️Take a walk outside

❤️Hug your dog!

These are a few ideas but there are limitless possibilities to cultivate time for you to receive and feel recharged. ✅

Just do one that resonates to create a practice.

Baby steps.
