One year to the day since we lost the greatest man I'll ever know.
These pics are from 2007, when we were able to take Dad to the NY Yankees Fantasy Camp. It was something he'd wanted to do for a long time, but because of the exorbitant cost, he willingly sacrificed his desire to do as he always had - make sure that we (the entire family) were taken care of first. He always put us before himself.
So, at 69 years old, we were able to give Dad the experience of a lifetime, and one that he so richly deserved and earned.
Watching Dad become a Yankee, if just for a week, was a highlight that I'll always cherish.
On the final night, they awarded him the Catfish Hunter Award for best representing "The essence of Yankee Pride and Tradition." All the attendees gave him the standing ovation that could have just as easily been in honor of the type of man he was.
That word - Pride - is exactly what I've always felt for him, and always will.
To be there to witness this moment was an honor and a privilege, and I'll carry that memory with me for the rest of my life.
To my Dad, who's legacy will live on forever - thank you so much for knocking it out of the park as the greatest father a son could ever hope for β€οΈ

Movie night with Mom. Oppenheimer. Great movie. Pleasantly surprised she made all the way through.
These increasingly rare moments are not taken for granted.
Mom doesn't do very much anymore, so this was even more special.
For everything Mom has done for me throughout my life, I will be there for the rest of hers.

Cropped Mom out of the 3rd pic. This was Dad's reaction.
This year, it's extra special. For those who don't know, Dad has been battling a rare and aggressive form of cancer for over 2 years. Chemo, multiple hernia surgeries along the way, and he's still hanging around.
Everything I am I owe to Dad and Mom. And on Father's Day, there is no better way to celebrate him than to share my all-time favorite moment as his son.
For the best man I will ever know.
I'll never get tired of reposting this every year...
In a 1981 Ramapo Little League baseball game, my coach and father gave me the chance to pitch for the first time. After walking seven batters in one inning, Dad gave me the hook but promised to give me another chance.
Fast forward to the final game of the season - the league championship. With only two innings left, I asked my father if I was going to get that chance. Holding a 6-4 lead, and against the wishes of virtually every parent in attendance, Dad put me in.
Four strikeouts and two put-outs later we had won the championship. After the last strike, I ran off the field and jumped into my father's arms.
To this day, it is the single greatest highlight of my athletic career. Dad risked his reputation as a coach to honor a promise he made to his son.
There are so many valuable life lessons that my father taught me. That day just reinforced something that my father never tried to teach me, but I always knew - my Dad is awesome.
I am so proud to have followed in his footsteps in my chosen career and in the way I carry myself on a daily basis. There is no better man or role model to follow.
And for the time I've been able to spend with him and Mom over the past few years, I am eternally grateful, and I do not take this time for granted.
Paraphrasing one of his favorite baseball players, Lou Gehrig: 'Being my Dad's son, I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the earth.'
Happy Father's Day to the greatest Dad in the world, and to all the dads out there who do everything in their power to make their children realize how amazing they truly are.

Of all the fighters I've ever seen, none stronger than this guy right here.
Dad was diagnosed with stage 3 large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the ascending colon back in October 2020.
We were told it's rare and aggressive.
8 months of chemo, and he never complained. After a temporary all clear, the cancer came back. He's now going through treatment again and not giving up.
Spent the morning with him at Memorial Sloan Kettering the day after Christmas.
He's an Army veteran and retired New York City School Teacher.
I am extremely proud to have followed in his footsteps, teaching 4 blocks from where he made his career.
My Dad is now and always will be, my hero.

Counting all the times I've woken up dead due to protein deficiency over the last 7 yearsπ€π€π€
I didn't go vegan for my health. I didn't go vegan for the environment.
I went vegan 100% for the animals.
After a lifetime of having animals killed for me to consume I came to the realization that their lives and their bodies are not mine to use as I see fit, just because I have the power to do so.
So in 2015, I said no more. And I haven't looked back.
This will p**s some people off. Some will unfollow. Some will claim that I'm "forcing my beliefs on others."
In reality though, there is not much more forceful than killing or having another being killed for you.
I am simply aligning my actions with my morals.
For the same reason I wouldn't kick a dog, I will no longer pay someone to kill an animal for me.
I will never tell anyone what to eat. But I will tell you who I defend.
If you have any questions, I'm happy to help.

Back when I was in that "Sub Club."
I think I also scored 4 touchdowns for Polk High School, but I digress...
I typically share one or two exercises from my workouts.
Reality is they are only a small portion of a larger workout that includes a fair amount of variety.
Wanted to give a slightly bigger picture today.
