Pro Prospect Baseball Academy

Another amazing weekend for the Pro Prospect Baseball Academy as they finish Champions. After winning the first game 5-1 we waited around for four hours to play a championship game that they won 12-5. Great job to all the boys. Also great job to both Christian and Derek that held the game down from the pitching mound.

Congrats to the PPBA 16u team on finishing runner-up in the gold bracket. What a great weekend it was for them. After winning 9-7 in the semi-final they went on to the championship to take on the number 1 seed. With the score 2-1 the game was called due to darkness and the lights not being turned on. I am very proud of these boys. Also big thanks to Coach , Coach and for doing an amazing job coaching. ⚾️

The rain held up this weekend so Pro Prospect Baseball Academy could get their tournament in. It was a good day for both 16u and 17u Pro Prospect teams.

Our 16u team came from behind but fell just short in the first game losing 8-6 in the last inning. In the second game ended in a 7-7 tie in a battle with Action Force Baseball. We ended up the 3 seed going into Sunday’s show down with Mahler Baseball.

The 17u fought a tough game with West Orange falling just shy of a victory by one run, 6-5. The bright moment of the game was 3 run home run by Darien. and stellar pitching by Darien and Derrek Sotolongo.

In the second game PPBA pulled out a 6-0 victory over a good Cobras team. Behind a home run blast by Alex Ortiz and good pitching by Christian.

Congrats to Pro Prospect Baseball Academy member Alejandro Rodriguez on being featured on Prospectwire twitter during the Scoutball Showcase two weekends ago. 14 year old playing up in the 17u division. Alejandro's lowest pop time for the weekend was 1.97 and threw out 5 runners trying to steal and back picked one at second. Keep up the hard work kid.

What an amazing weekend it was at the ProspectWire/Scoutball JUCO tournament in Lakeland. The boys played amazing in a long 30 innings of baseball and a total 11 hours. Pro Prospect Baseball Academy won the first game vs A-Team 2-1 then 10-3 victory over Empire Baseball. While locking up the pool champion we took on a very good Scorpions team and finished in a 5-5 tie before our championship game. We took a very good Legends team to 9 innings and a 4 hour championship game before coming up short 8-6. I am very proud of these boys, they are a very talented group of kids that are all about brotherhood and working together to accomplish a goal. Not one kid on the team played selfish or worried about playing a certain position or playing time as along as they were able to contribute to helping the team win.
