You're human, you're likely to experience fear, even if you've done a decent amount of meditation or inner work.

So what would it take to be with that fear, rather than avoiding, suppressing, or what I can do if I am not mindful, displacing it into action?

Some people say 'there's love or fear, that's it'. There's something powerful in that idea. But mostly, I sense people experience it as an idea, not a lived experience.

More powerful may be to notice your ACTUAL experience - which will likely include all sorts of things...anger, shame, resignation, rejection, disappointment, etc. You'll probably become more present if you can notice and be with your actual experience, rather than tell yourself you should return to love.

Anyways, don't take it from me, just try it if you're drawn and see what your own experience is.

What is freedom really?

What if there are levels to it?

At one level, there's freedom in the external, which usually comes down to time, money, and doing the things you like to do. And that's cool, for sure, if you've never experienced it, it's worth working towards.

But maybe beyond that, there's another kind of freedom? Real freedom. Inner freedom. The freedom to be with all kinds of experiences and not reject them, judge them, avoid them, repress them, or make them wrong somehow.

The freedom to be yourself.

The freedom to say yes and to say no.

The freedom to be your true self, your true nature.

What do you know about that freedom?

I've heard this one a lot from clients during my coaching career - "I just can't wait to start my business, now's the time".

But it's all mind-driven - it's not being sourced from a deeper impulse. Life isn't calling you to start your business, your mind is, your inner critic is, your negative self-comparison is.

So slow down, really slow down, and without any expectations about what the season is, try and tune in.

When it's winter, it doesn't matter what your expectations are, it's still winter!

So too, internally. You'll really struggle if you can't tune into what season it really is.

This has been a hard one for me...I love maps! Both literally, like I pored over them as a kid and mental maps, models, frameworks.

And yet...experience can be so much richer than a map.

And there are some things that no matter how much someone gives me a map, I just have to go taste, experience, be with them myself.

Are there any places that your maps are holding you back? Need updating? Or throwing out?

What do you get intellectually but don't fully own, embody, know?
