There is something incredible special about dancing to live music with no plan—just listening, feeling, and giving myself permission to respond. Then turning around to see a room full of women doing the same… pure magic!!!

Thank you dear The Brooklyn Nomads for giving us more than just beautiful music!! You shared the rhythms, the history, and the language behind the music, inviting us to experience the heart of Arab musical tradition, not just hear it. This made our dance so much more meaningful. Thank you!!

These days, I call Alabama home—but every month, I find my way back to New York to dance with my incredible community.
