Growing up, my best friend’s mom Nancy introduced me to the New Orleans art world.

She took me to my first concert — Bob Dylan on Tulane’s campus. She brought me to gallery openings at the Contemporary Arts Center.

On her bookshelf sat a biography of Peggy Guggenheim — a woman who called herself an “art addict” and became one of the great patrons of the 20th century.

Not because she was the richest person in the room. Because she believed in artists completely, and showed up for them.

Nancy’s New Orleans felt like that city. A place where art wasn’t a luxury — it was just the texture of life.

That’s what we’re trying to build with Crescent City Stage. And today, on GiveNOLA Day, you can be part of it.

Be a patron. Show up for New Orleans artists. Help us reach our $15,000 goal by midnight tonight.

My little brother, Andrew 🤍

Andrew died in 1995 at the age of 9. He was the youngest of five children.

It was unfathomable to lose him so young, that the only thing that heals my grieving heart is to believe that he was only meant to be on this earth for those 9 years.

He lived such a full and complete life in that time period. He had a full career as an actor-comedian, taking ownership of the family camcorder and filming original videos and Ace Ventura covers.

He created a comic book series called Crisis Man and started a weekly newsletter for his class, the first edition had the headline: Trash! An Epidemic — it included photographs that he took of debris around our neighborhood.

He had a girlfriend and a sidepiece. Boy was good with the ladies!

He got good grades in school and was very athletic.

But most of all, he brought so much love, joy and light to my family and his friends. It made him happy to see others happy and he did whatever he could to bring a smile to people’s faces.

I hope he does that for you in these clips!

Loving and missing you, as always, Drewsky!

Happy 11th Anniversary, Love!

11 symbolizes soulmates, and you are definitely mine! Best friends, lovers, parents, co-founders, partners for life.

How is it that we’ve been together this long, but it seems like no time has passed at all, and yet we keep having things to talk about and not enough time to fill it all.

Love you forever 💗
