Two races down, three to go, and the OSR Proto Series is starting to take shape.
On the Women’s side, jamie morrissey has been perfect. Two starts, two wins, and the only athlete in the Series with maximum points through two races. But nothing is locked up. Athletes must compete in the Championship on October 31st to be eligible for the $2,000 Series prize, and points earned in the Championship are worth 150% of their normal value. Even with a strong lead going into the final race, another athlete within striking distance can make up a lot of ground on October 31st.
jordan senko now sits on top of the Men’s field with 185 points after showing up to both races and taking the win at the OSR5K. Jeff Thies opened the Series with a 4:11 win at OSR1, edging out Jordan, but missed the 5K, giving Jordan the opportunity to move into first overall.
The Non-Binary field is literally tied. jordan caroompas and Saguaro (Sof) Camacho have each raced once, each won the race they entered, and each earned 100 points. Jordan took 100 at OSR1 before missing the 5K, while Sofia took 100 at the OSR5K after missing OSR1. They now head toward the OSR10K tied at 100 points each.
Next up is the OSR10K on Saturday, October 3rd at 8PM, bringing back the original OSR Navy Yard route.
Spectators are welcome and encouraged. We’re putting more production into each of these events, creating an experience not only for the athletes racing, but for the people who come out to watch and support them.
You do not have to be competing in the Proto Series to race. Each event is open to anyone and can be registered for individually.
