2025 put me THROUGH IT - from starting off the year with a nasty virus, some passings, taking a nasty fall down the stairs that could have ended my life if I fell differently onto concrete stairs, to the end of friendships of people I realized didn't f*ck with me 100 grand, to leaving an extremely toxic gym I was teaching at (not everyone is fit for managerial positions), to a 45 day ordeal with sciatica and a cancer scare ... even typing all that was triggering.
But I survived it. It was also filled with laughter, newly built friendships and reinforced relationships with my family + my guy. I traveled, I ate well + good, I moved my body (even through pain), I PASSED ALL MY CLASSES IN SCHOOL THIS YEAR ... and I turned 40!
Thank you God for reminding me that YOU carry me always and have never forsaken me.
Thank you body, for standing ten toes down (literally and figuratively) at the end of it. YOU AND I GOT SOME MILES ON THIS THANG, AND WE GON' KEEP ON TRUCKING.
Thank you to the amazing people in my life who never left my side.
Thank you to my guardian angels, on this side and beyond.
And thank you to my Spirit, for never breaking (although we bent like a MUHFUGGA - no shame in that!!!)
2025 ... I end you with strength, courage and wisdom.
2026 ... I am open and ready.

Your girl's life is a REAL balancing act right now - mostly good but VERY BUSY! One thing at a time and focusing on the bigger picture.
Staying far from timid, making a ton of moves that my heart is in, and living the phrase .... π

Oh hey ππΎ Obligatory-Sign-Of-Life post for the Static Feed (I'm more of a Stories gal). Also- I WISH I was trying to be cool, buuuuut I was rushing this morning and left my glasses at home .... so had to teach all of my classes in my prescription shades. And now my head hurts trying to see in dark rooms through dark shades! Just in case anyone cares how my day is going.π
But I look cute though π

This is for them (ALMOST - 11 Days!) 40 somethings.
Raise a glass and laugh like a MUHFUGGA π
Taught my last class before leaving for 2 weeks on my birthday trip (as I celebrate the 15th anniversary of my 25th year π₯³) and I was surprised with a champagne toast! I even encouraged the class to ride with me for a 40 second sprint and they all did it with me , even the newbies π! This is the one job that I've had that always made me feel special on my birthday, even when we were outdoors!
Going into my 4th Decade with my health (and the ability to influence others to pursue theirs) is the greatest gift.
(PSST... it's on the 21st! βοΈ)

Is even a thing still (my elderly millennial ass is out of touch!) If not, I'm bringing it back to celebrate the lovely Wanjiru! Yesterday marked her 40th Ride at and she chose to cycle strong into this major achievement in my BEYONCE: Cowboy Carter vs Remaissance ride! Her energy was always on high the minute she stepped in the B*K Deck and it shined brighter than her fears. Coming into a fitness space isn't easy, but deciding you're going to do it consistently is even harder and YOU'RE DOING IT! I got into this business to help folks of all colors, creeds, shapes and identities feel like they belong in fitness spaces- especially those who look like me. Thank you Wanjiru for entrusting us to give you the support to take up space to live your strongest life! We love you and cannot wait to celebrate your next 40 rides before your milestone 4-0 birthday in November!

It's a whole new month of SB4HB Full Body Fit Zoom classes about to go down, and all February long we're putting down the weights and getting our burn on with resistance bands! Bands are a great way to switch up your strength training, and are a great means of increasing core activation/stability and overall mobility/muscle function as well!
